approving members and subgroup/naming question

Niman H All Messages By This Member #21078 I have my group settings as: Restricted Membership Members require approval before being allowed to join the group. Announcement Group Only moderators are allowed to post. Moderated All messages require approval before being sent to the group. New Users Moderated Messages from new subscribers require approval. And there is a message to be sent to members upon applying (to ask who they are, etc). Which is "Active". A member just applied to join using the?+subscribe command She got the request, replied to it I got the request as mod She then got the application form but ALSO got a "Thank you for joining " email. She shows as pending on the member list.? So: 1) how is it that she is showing as pending AND got the email saying she has joined? 2) how do I prevent people from joining before we can vet them? ALSO - I created a subgroup then we decided we didn't need it so deleted it today. Will the name of the group go back to "[email protected]" instead of "[email protected]"? Hasn't happened yet, will it reset itself on its own? Thank you!? Sally

That email was from groups.io, not your group.? She didn't have an account at the site before joining your group, so one was created when she applied. Niman H All Messages By This Member #21092 Ok mystery cleared up a bit. The email she got had subject: Welcome to Groups.io! But if you read the message it says: Thank you for confirming your account. You will now receive messages from the groups you are subscribed to. If any of the groups you subscribed to require approval before joining, you will be notified when that happens. This is very confusing for members who do require approval. Any way to change or prevent this message from being sent out? They'd also get an email from your group (or notice when they apply online) that their membership requires approval if you have one.? You can set one up by creating a Pending Subscription type of Member Notice.
