Separate Accounts (NOT Groups) on Same Home Page?
Hi,
I just transferred my Yahoo Owner Group to Groups.io. I am also a member of several other groups?that?also transferred over. On Groups.io both my Owner Group and the other groups have separate accounts, each with different sign-in information (Email Address & Password).? Previously on the Yahoo Group Home Page on the upper right, if I clicked on my name I had a choice of?my different accounts and?I could choose which one I wanted to go to?see?the groups in that account. I'm wondering if Groups.io has the same option? Having to sign-in and out of each account has been driving me crazy, and is very time consuming! Thanks, Janet |

It looks like one can also keep two sessions open simultaneously in two tabs, and switch between them without having to log in and out all the time. Does anyone know of other extensions that does this? Samuel ![]()

Hi,Janet You can have more than one groups.io webpage open at once and each one signed in with its, in your case, unique account. For all groups except your owner group you would have to logout with your owner account then sign in with your account appropriate to that group. DOes that make sense? Margaret UK |

I was actually NOT able to get this to work (different sign-ins on different tabs) in my environment (Firefox on Linux).? I found that the last sign-in "won", and all my tabs were using that login.? If there's a way to change the Firefox configuration so that it works, I'd love to know about it :-)
I'm set up in a similar way with an "admin" login for the group where I'm an owner and a "regular" login for all my other groups.? I log out and back in as needed. Dan SouthernCrossSailboats@... |

As far as I can see, no-one here mentioned a Firefox extension, but I did find one that worked, called MultiAccountContainers: With this extension, if you click one of the sessions in the list, it opens a new tab, but the tab doesn't automatically load Groups.io. YOu have to type in (or select from the browser's address field dropdown options) /groups. But from that point onwards the tab is a separate session with a separate login, and all tabs opened from those tabs remain part of that particular session. I particularly like the fact that the session name is noted in the address field, so that you can see which session the tab is from. You can also save sessions in Firefox manually, but then each session is in a separate window (not just a separate tab). Samuel |

Try opening an entirely separate browser instance and see if that works better. In Chrome, I've found that I'm able to have two separate GIO accounts open at the same time if the second instance is opened in incognito mode...without resorting to any fancy add-ons. You might be able to do the same by opening a Private window in Firefox. Bruce |

I can see that trick saving me a lot of time when I next have to see what happens from a user's perspective while changing something as a moderator. Just wish I'd thought of it for myself. :) Chris |
