Caution: "Content flagged as objectionable" message

I have received a message, apparently from [email protected],?informing me that a member of my group has flagged content as objectionable, including a link:

/g/RandREngines/files?id=1403173
The link does not lead to the location of a file, but attempts to start a download titled "1".
I am not about to download the file to find out what it might be.
I have emailed the group member but received no reply after 24 hours. The member has been with the group since 2004, but never posted.
I suspect this is an attack of some description.
Has anyone else seen this kind of activity?

Is there a reason given in the email you got?? Could have been someone that got transferred trying to figure out what the Flag icon meant.? It's very difficult to relate the id=xxxxx because I haven't found a way to translate that to a file name.? You might check the Files area (or activity log) to see if any files were recently uploaded, but it my have been there for some time.

This rings a very big bell, but I was unable to find the previous threads on this issue (namely legitimate files downloading as "1") in the GMF or beta groups (possibly because searching for '"1"' is just looking for trouble).

Sorry, I can't remember if this turned out to be a browser issue. But have you tried clicking the link in other browsers?

Yes, when a member "reports" a file (i.e. flags it as problematic) by clicking the flag icon next to the file in the Files section, the report is sent to the group moderators, and the FROM is "[email protected]".

The report can optionally contain text that the user typed. The report contains the e-mail address of the user who submits the report. Example:

-------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
[e-mail of reporter] wishes to inform you that the following
file:
/g/[groupname]/files?id=1436857
is objectionable. They entered the following reason why it
should be considered objectionable:
asdfasdfasdf
Please take a moment to review and take action as you feel
appropriate for your group.
Cheers,
The Groups.io Team
-----------------------------------------------------------

In my test, when I clicked the link in the report (which was for an image file), my browser prompted me to save it (and the browser correctly identified it as an image file.

Unfortunately, following the link doesn't tell you where the file is located. This is really stupid (sorry, Groups.io developers!).

So, you're going to have to write an e-mail to that person and ask him if he can remember which file he reported, and if so, what the location of the file is, and perhaps also apologise to him on behalf of Groups.io that the location of the file wasn't part of the report that was sent.

However...

If you're on the page where the file is, you can use your browser's "view source" feature and search for the file ID.

I downloaded the file (into quarantine - just in case) and it is a drawing of an engine part - nothing objectionable about it.
I suspect perhaps just a member playing with the functions of the new group.

Thanks for the suggestions.
