Odd situation - Yahoo says transfer@ has accepted, status doesn't
#transfer
What does this mean? I got emails from Yahoo saying that [email protected] had accepted invitations to both groups that I am getting transferred. But I have NOT yet received an email from Groups.io, nor does the transfer status indicate that it has been accepted. (i.e. it still reads "We've received the invite to your group and will accept it soon. There is no need to send another invite.")
Is it OK to go ahead and promote the user to Moderator on the Yahoo groups? Are any particular mod permissions needed? Thanks, Su |
Yes this happened to me too.? The actual events and emails from Groups.io seemed to be slightly out of synch.? But the emails did catch up after 12 hours or so. My understanding (and from the email you did not get yet) is that you can uncheck all the boxes on the moderator permissions.? It just needs to be moderator with no detailed permissions.

Although the step-by-step implies it's meant to be fairly instantaneous between making the agent a mod and getting the option to progress, it seems to take half a day before the system generates the email prompting you to decide to authorise the transfer. ? -- Mister Andersen ----- If you could touch the alien sand and hear the cries of strange birds and watch them wheel in another sky, would that satisfy you? |

Are you sure this didn't come from groups.io? But I have NOT yet received an email from Groups.io, nor does the transfer status indicate that it has been accepted. (i.e. it still reads "We've received the invite to your group and will accept it soon. There is no need to send another invite.")You should continue to wait until this status changes. Due to the way transfers are being managed now, it seems there may be some delay after groups.io accepts the invitation and your transfer advances to the next step of the process. Is it OK to go ahead and promote the user to Moderator on the Yahoo groups?Yes...but don't click the "Give Go Ahead to Transfer" button until the status changes (not sure that you can, anyway). Are any particular mod permissions needed? No.? Hope this helps, Bruce |
Thanks, all! Especially those who have also seen this, for the reassurance.
Yes, Bruce, the emails are from Yahoo which does know when the [email protected] account accepts the invite to join the Y groups. OK, I will wait to see the email from Groups.io. Thanks, Su |
