I am owner but need to add a second one.Go to the Members tab at the left hand side of the web UI for your group. Either by scrolling through the list of members presented, or by searching on their Display Name or email address (or just a part thereof) click on the "member's line" anywhere other than the checkbox at the left hand side of their entry in the list. That "click" will take you to the page detailing that person's Membership. The fourth section on the page is called Role. It will (or should!) say Member. At the right hand side of the line with "Member" in it is a drop - down arrow. Click on the arrow and a drop - down list will appear with the options of Member / Moderator / Owner available. Clcik on Owner, and "Owner" will appear in the place where Member previously appeared. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save. Job done, put kettle on. :) Chris |

Updated that page of the wiki based on Chris' detailed instructions. The old one was a little too barebones! The crucial bit - don't use the check box for that. Click on the name or email address. |

I am owner but need to add a second one.Susan; further to my earlier post there is a risk to all this unless you know your appointee for second owner well and trust them implicitly. All Owners are equal, and Groups.io does not discriminate between the "real" owner and a reserve one. It is thus possible for an appointed owner to ddemote the real one and even remove them from the group they created. The same risk exists if someone appointed as a moderator is given Set Moderator Privileges as one of their Permissions. An owner has that permission by default, along with all the others. Chris |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThat worked! I am so glad because other members will now have an easier time of it too.Susan B On Nov 5, 2019, at 11:06 AM, Frances <frances@...> wrote: Updated that page of the wiki based on Chris' detailed instructions.
