Calendar reminders not workin properly
#cal-reminder
Fran Miele
I have a weekly calender entry that is setup to send reminders the day before, one hour before and when the event occurs(special notice).
The only ones being sent are the day before and the time the event occurs. The reminder? one hour before never gets sent. What am I doing wrong? -- Fran, W1FJM |

What am I doing wrong?Fran -- This is just a guess on my part...but is this an all-day event? Exactly when an all-day event starts is unclear, given that your subscribers could be scattered across the globe.?There is no provision within groups.io to send a separate calendar reminder to each subscriber based on his time zone. If you must have this kind of granularity in your notification times it's better to avoid checking the all-day box. Instead, set up the event to start at 00:00 and end at 23:59 (local time). If I'm way off the mark, I think we may need to see a screenshot. Hope this helps, Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

Has to and from hours setI've set up a test event (on a test group) using the parameters you've given.? I won't know until Saturday morning (CDT) how it turns out though.? I suspect there may be a bug, but this should tell us for sure. No, not all day. Has to and from hours setOkay, so much for that. While we're waiting for Duane's test, a more basic question... When you say the 1-hour #cal-reminder is not being sent, do you mean by email? Is it also missing from the online message archive? Regards, Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

I only see the reminder that is sent out the day before in the message archive. On the test I did, all 3 notices came in via email and posted to the group.? Only difference is that I didn't set up a repeating event.? The only thing I can think of to try is delete your event and recreate it, unless you've already done that recently.? Seems to be some sort of glitch, but not consistent, so would be very difficult to track down. My hypothesis is that if you edit a repeating event to later add a notification, the new notification does not repeat. It will take several more days to confirm whether that's what is actually happening.? ? Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

I've got a second test running in my own test group.Fran -- I seem to have confirmed the above hypothesis. I first set up a recurring (daily) event at noon with a reminder at 11 AM, and waited two days to be sure it was working properly. Then I added a second reminder at 11:30. This second #cal-reminder is not happening, despite the fact that groups.io popped up a dialog box to ask whether the addition would apply to all of the recurring events. I will be reporting this to support as a bug.? Regards, Bruce ? -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |
