Help with Invite

Edited

I'm asking for help again, please. I thank you all for your help in regaining my position as Owner of my group, I'm back and all is well. However, two people have requested to join the group, and in each case I went to Invite, followed the instructions, sent an invitation, then checked to make sure it had been sent. Here is a screen shot of the page:

As you can see, it shows that the invitations have been sent, but the persons never received the invitations. Please help me understand why, and how I can make sure the invitations are sent. Also -- can an owner personally subscribe a person who wants to join? That seems like it would solve the problem, but I can't find any way to do so.

Thank you for your help.

Well, if the invitation shows as "Sent", it was sent. If they didn't receive it, there could be a number of reasons. It could be a typo in their email address, or the message was diverted to a spam folder, or it was intercepted by their email provider, or...

Are you sure these two people aren't already in the group? They could have joined by clicking the "Join This Group" link on your Home Page. Many people refuse to click on links in emails, for fear that they'll be diverted to a phishing site.

Generally, that page will continue to show the invitation as "Sent" until the recipient responds to the invitation.

Paid groups can do that. See?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-members/premium-and-enterprise-member-management-options?

Thank you Bruce - I investigated, and found I did not realize one person has 2 email addresses, I used the wrong one. The other does not appear to be a member but will try to contact her for more information. I really appreciate your help. -Kathrynne

Bruce, I contacted the person and he says the email address I used is fine, and correctly spelled. He has checked his spam folder as well, and still it has not shown up. I can't figure out why he hasn't received the Invite, but I'll try again. Fingers crossed. Thanks, Kathrynne

Kathrynne. -- You can always just have him send an email to the +subscribe address ( /helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/additional-information/standard-group-email-addresses?). This may be preferable to spinning your wheels over invitations.
