New to groups.io so was experimenting...
I am wondering if in these scenarios:
bug? feature? or am I missing a setting or rather a combo of settings?
Testing
subscription via email to SubgroupX+subscribe
... while not-yet-member of MAIN/Parent group
... SubgroupX: Subscriptions? require approval
scenario I: not added to subgroup, which is original intention
MAIN membership restricted: Subscriptions to this group require approval
after confirming email then PENDING to MAIN, then approved in MAIN,
result in question? end up member of MAIN but *not* member in SubgroupX
(Admin -> activity would need to be checked to see if they meant to join just MAIN or one of the subgroups)
Scenario II subgroup Calendar invite sent before approval to subgroup
MAIN membership open: Subscriptions to this group do not require approval
SubgroupX: Calendar (not public) members can view
after confirming email, become member of MAIN (w/o pending in MAIN)
result in question? while PENDING in subgroupX they receive calendar invite from the SubgroupX before approval in Subgroup ...
