Does every member added automatically have a groups.io Account?
Many of our members in a group recently migrated from yahoo into a new group I moderate at groups.io never had "profiles" (accounts) at yahoo.
That was a PITA when they wanted to change email addresses, etc. The members of my new group were all by direct ADDING. I'd like to know if when I added them they each automatically get a groups.io account (which would allow them to go on the site and for example, set themselves to Digest Mode, etc) or if they'd have to create accounts? And if create, short directions to them for doing so? Offhand, I'm guessing they'd have to proactively create an account because an account requires they have a password, and in doing a direct add we certainly don't assign passwords. However they don't need one.?They need not go to your group homepage if they don't wish to. Many people participate happily without the need to do so. If they wish to go to your group homepage, they can click on Email me a link to log in.? Help available from Groups.io help and GMF wiki. ? |

Direct adding (or adding a member in any way) creates a Groups.io account if they don't already have one. And your new members do have an account since you added them.. It is important for them to use Log In, not Sign Up. / /login And they can use the Email me a link function. It is important that they log in with the email address that you have in your group Members lists (in Admin). I suggest that if you haven't done so, you check out?/helpcenter/gettingstarted Frances -- Help available from Groups.io help and GMF wiki. ? |
