Slack synchronization, possible account change, basic plan

On Aug. 11, 2020, my groups.io group was created for my club and we use the free basic plan.? I created a Slack group and our memberships lists are synchronized, using ¡°Push and Remove Members¡±.? I started both groups.io and Slack with my personal email address; subsequently, I also made them both owned by a club email alias, in case I become unavailable.
I forgot about the synchronization account between groups.io and Slack, which is still uses my personal email address.? If I logout of the groups.io Slack membership synchronization and try to restart the synchronization using a club email alias, is groups.io going to give me an error that such a service is available only to premium subscribers of groups.io? In late August, I think there were changes to the pricing plans with groups.io and I now see this page and content: /static/features ¡°Member synchronization Sync your members across services. If you have a Slack Team, you can sync it with your Groups.io Premium group. Then, when someone joins your group, they will be automatically invited to join your Slack Team. And if someone leaves your group, they will be removed from your Slack Team.¡± Best regards, Brent Petersen, b.petersen@... |

I have several groups created after August 24 and even they have an active Service Sync button. That said, I have not actually tried to use it. I don't know what you mean by a "club email alias." Is the address capable of receiving and responding to messages sent from groups.io? If not, any problems you encounter will probably stem from that. Hope this helps, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |
Bruce:
I logged out of the Slack sync with my personal email address and I was able to log in to the Slack service-sync with the club email alias. The club email alias is just another email address; this email address is now the owner of groups.io, the primary owner of the Slack group, and now is the account used for the Slack service-sync the membership lists. Everything is great. Thank you very much. Best regards, Brent |
