How do I transfer ownership...

¡of a group to someone else?

Thank you,
Florence

If not already a group member, add them to the group; edit their membership and set them to owner, demote yourself to a regular moderator or member, and that's it.

You might consider staying on as an owner as well. There have been many people posting here over the past few years in a pickle because the owner had disappeared, or died.

Frances,

Excellent advice.? Yahoo didn't have this option.? Thus, moderators only had so much ability.? The ability to have co-owners here on GIO is a major plus!

Having co-owners helps with transitioning one person to the new level.

Having a co-owner allows for one owner to take a vacation, or health leave of absence or other life changing event.

And a co-owner can also be a silent owner, to assist when things are stuck.? Example, the internet of the owner is down, yet something needs assistance right away.

Now, on the flip side, a two headed snake is difficult to tame.? Thus, it has to be agreed upon that there is a main owner and a companion owner to a group to keep things smoothly.
