same suffix on all groups

Anyone one have an idea why all of my groups have the same suffix??Well, I think it has to do with the way digests work. Full Featured Digest will group the days messages into batches of 12 and send each batch when the twelfth is posted. Any that remain at the end of the day will be sent as the final (or only) digest of the day. The digests include the full text of each message, omitting any quotes of prior messages. Full Featured Digests include at the top a list of the enclosed topics, clickable as links to take you to that topic.
?
Plain Digest works the same way, but is sent as a text/plain email message, with no clickable links.
So you have an active group that needs more digests in one day. Frances -- GMF Wiki: (unofficial) Help for members (and would-be members) and group managers and Official Help |
Neil,
Anyone one have an idea why all of my groups have the same suffix??If you're referring to the From: address all being [email protected], note that the From address is that of the sending member, not the group (the group's address is in the To field). Your screen-shot looks like Thunderbird. You may want to go to the Options, and on the Display page click the Advanced tab then uncheck |_| Show only display names for people in my address book That can confuse matters if for some reason you have multiple Email addresses in your address book with the same Name. Even worse when you have email addresses in the Name field, which is what I suspect. If that's not the issue, then I'm with Chris - unable to figure out what you mean. If it only does this on one of your PCs, then it is definitely a problem with the settings in your email program on that computer.
A lot of email programs try to "help" you by throwing away the sender's name and replacing it with a name from your address book or contacts list. What you want to do is: (1) Turn of this setting, if you can, and/or (2) Remove incorrect entries from your address book. |
Neil,
It appears your suggestion did the trick all now appear to be normal.Glad to hear it! That being the case Erikag59's suggestion is on-the-mark: you probably should do some in-depth grooming of Thunderbird's address book - it would seem you've somehow collected a bunch of useless or erroneous contact entries. Since those addresses might be used for auto-completion when you type an address, they will only add confusion. And you are correct I have been using Thunderbird for years.Me too. And Eudora Pro before that. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |
