Passwords on Files folder

Hi - I'm looking if we have the ability to password protect a certain file group under files.? This would be helpful to our club.

Thanks in Advance,

No.? There's no way to keep only some people from accessing a file without limiting access to all but moderators.? No one but the file owner or a moderator can delete it though.

It would be helpful for a couple of my groups, too.?

At this time the only way I know of to make certain documents available only to a subset of your group is to either make all the privileged people Moderators or move the documents to a subgroup and restrict access to that.

Of course, individual PDF or Word files can be password-protected.

And, for anything else you can zip the file with a password. Of course, this also restricts the file from being viewed.

SBN,

You can zip the files with a password and then upload.?

Winzip or 7zip would work just fine.? No need to have GIO do the task for you.?

Password-protected ZIP files are NOT SECURE! There are dozens of password crackers available for free.

You could remove the privileges from these moderators so all they can do is add files and view the "moderator only" files.
