Can a Topic be Muted?

I thought Mute Topic was a choice at one time but I can't locate it. ?Maybe it went away with one of the changes Mark made. ?When it did exist, what did it do? ?I have Locked a Topic recently but I was wondering if Mute would have accomplished what I needed.

Mute is only for you, not the group. You can Mute (or Follow) a topic from your overview (/topics), once you're looking at the topic, at the top of the page. Locking is best if you don't want that thread used again. If it's getting 'rough', you could use Moderate Topic. Remember that in either case, someone can easily start a new Topic with the same subject matter.

Duane, where do I mute a topic??

I know that I can "follow" from my email - it brings me to a confirmation page on the group website. I did see a Muted in the menu on the left when I started to look at this but it has disappeared now.?

Can you try it yourself and then give me specific instructions??

And I can't see the list of threads I follow. But I know that I do that from email and then I see the list.

Also in either case, if you have deleted any message from the Topic before locking or moderating it, or do so in the future, or if you have renamed it, the moderation and locking fails when anyone responds to either the deleted message or the originally-named topic, respectively.

Hi

I just sent a message about muting and following.?I discovered where I can see what is muted and followed by clicking on Duane's link.

You must select Manage Subscriptions from Your Groups (in the blue banner).

It is nice to have an overview, but I would like to be able to see this information in the specific group. Or at least some link to suggest this view of my subscriptions.

That would be a suggestion for the beta group.?

I find the Mute option at the end of the footnotes
