Screening new members #membershiprequest #membernotices

I tested this - it works for restricted groups. It doesn't work for "direct adds" or invites.

You have to create a Pending Subscription notice.?It is partially automated - you do have to reply to an email - but the notice is sent out automatically if the notice is active. Then you have to decide and accept or not. That's manual!

I added some screenshots to the wiki page including one that shows what happens if the person tries to jump the gun even after they have started the process.
I hope it helps. I still have a few more screenshots but I thought there was enough!

Your WIKI says:
? After the group owner / moderator replies to the [Subscription Approval Needed] message, the Pending Subscription notice is sent to the potential member.

My experience is that the "Subscription Approval Needed" and "Pending Subscription Notice" get sent at the same time.
Whether an Owner / Moderator replies to a "Subscription Approval Needed" message has no effect on a "Pending Subscription Notice" message.

If an Owner / Moderator wishes to prevent another Owner / Moderator from approving the Subscription by email, they must "Claim" that Subscription request.
This can be done by clicking on "View Pending Member" in the "Subscription Approval Needed" message
Then click on "Claim Sub" at the bottom of that Pending Member's webpage (in your groups Admin > Members > Pending Approval webpage)
Now only that Owner / Moderator who 'Claimed the Sub' can approve by email, all other Owners / Moderators (with appropriate permissions) can only do so at your groups Admin > Members > Pending Approval webpage where it says "Claimed by your name" in a blue badge next the Pending Member's email address.

Here's how I describe how to do this workaround
