Creating a database map view
After searching high and low at groups.io, I'm been unable to find anything on how to create maps.? If someone could point me to instructions or lay out how to do it, I would be most grateful. Why a map in our case?? [email protected] is a Yahoo refugee group composed mostly of Americans who want to live in France or already do.? A map showing where our members live around the world and France would be nice. Yes, we are at the Premium level. Harvey ? J¡¯ai remarqu¨¦ que rien que je n¡¯ai jamais dit m¡¯a fait aucun mal. ? I know that you can choose whether text or map is the default view.? I'm not familiar with the other details though as I have free groups. After populating the table, users should then be able to toggle between text and map views. Hopefully others can speak to how effective this view might be for addresses outside of the US.? Where is the toggle located?Don -- First, you must have a Premium group. Second, you must have defined a database table with a column of type "address." If you have both of these things, and open the table, the toggles between map and list views will be at the top of the page (immediately to the right of "Edit Table Properties"). Note also that -- for some unknown reason -- map view defaults to maximum zoom. I have to hit the "zoom out" button twice before my house comes into view. Hope this helps, Bruce |
Bruce and Duane,
Thank you for the explanations!? Worked perfectly -- a significant number of our members have already located themselves on the map. As I mentioned in the first email, we're Yahoo refugees and it's so refreshing to find a supportive user group so ready to help others.? Makes us sorry we didn't move sooner.?
