Erroneous "help" info (?)

According to the Help page, an "Invite"-type of?Member Notice can be "activated". Unlike the "Welcome" and "Pending Subscription"?notices, though, there is no "Active Message" option for my custom "Invite" notice. Apparently, all I can use it for is a place to store text to then copy and paste into an invitation screen.

Is the Help info wrong, or is my group not configured properly?

Thank you,
-rich

The Help page is a bit behind.? This was changed not too long ago.? For type Invite, you can set up as many as you'd like, or none.? If you have at least one, it will be in the Notices box on the Invite page in the Customize Message area and you can choose to insert it into the standard invitation.? If you have several, you can choose which one of them to use.

Neither as far as I can see!

Firstly set up an "Invite" message in Admin > Settings > Member Notices. It is one of the options under Notice Type.

Then go to Admin > Invite. There is a (fixed) template Invitation To Be Sent as the first item on that page, followed by Customize Message. At the bottom of that section (above Emails) is a box called --Notices-- with a drop - down arrow at its right hand end. Use that drop down to add the Invite Message that you composed initially. Note that you can set up more than one Invite Message, and when you use the drop down you can pick whichever invite message is the most appropriate.

Hope that helps...

Chris

Mark has corrected the information on the Help page (but made a little typo while doing it.)? It's good enough to make it more clear.
