Further I have found all works well when I use my iPad. ?Must be something with my MBP. ?Any ideas welcome.

I have set up (owner) of a group,?[email protected].? My email will not send messages to that address. It says there are no recipients.

I use Version 11.5 (3445.9.1) linked to my gmail account.

Sorry to ask but I just can not figure this out. ?

Must be simple.

Thanks ?George
?
PS? This is being sent directly from Gmail not Apple mail.

I use Apple Mail and have for years. While it has other endearing traits, that hasn¡¯t been one of them.

The first time I glanced at ¡°phhs¡±, however, I saw ¡°phish¡±. Could something else be seeing that?

Thanks folks.??

When I enter the address in the to: or CC: fields the address immediately disappears.? What fun mysteries are???

groups.io is a foreign top-level domain. Do you have such domains blocked in your email configuration?

I use Version 11.5 (3445.9.1) linked to my gmail account.
OS 10.14.8 (Mojave) and Mail Version 12.4 (3445.104.11) are current

You might want to update:

your Operating System
Apple Menu > System Preferences > Software Update

your version of Mail
Apple Menu > App Store... > Updates

Hi

I just sent an email from Apple Mail to that email address. It doesn't exist. The raw header says "best guess". Are you sure that is the email address for your group? I can send the whole raw header if someone thinks it is worthwhile.?

George -- I just sent a note to?[email protected]?and got the standard bounce message in return.

Stepping back...do your smartphone and your iPad share the same email address? Go to Admin>Members and double-check which email address actually "owns" the group. Groups.io has no way of knowing that a message coming from a different email address is the same person.

If any of the advice you've received resolves your problem, please report back.

I joined George's group yesterday
OR /g/phhs1960

and then sent a message to it using my 2 year old MacBook Pro (Mojave OS 10.14.8) and Apple's Mail Version 12.4 (3445.104.11) which are the current versions
FWIW, I clicked on <[email protected]> (in the "Welcome to [email protected]" message I received when I joined) to address my email.

I also emailed him with suggestions to check the group's Activity Log, to post direct from his Email Provider's web-based email website (gmail.com), to consider updating his Operating System and/or version of Apple Mail, and to check if his "Account > Preferences > Web Site Preferences > Email Preferences > My Posts" was set to: 'I always want copies of my own messages'.

His Test message (#2 for his group) on July 15,
was replied to this morning (#3 for his group) by one of the other 5 members of his group,
just before my message (#4 for his group) (which required approval) was posted.
Therefore we know a MacBook Pro can use Apple Mail to post to his group...

I have yet to hear back from him, perhaps the challenge is with his email, not Groups.io.

Hi and thanks for all you attention to my issue.

Turns out I had entered the address for the group incorrectly at some time and it stayed in the computer (and I guess in my mind.) : )

The only difference was oi vs io. : )

So all is well, at least as well as it can be for me!

Thanks again, ?George
