Send message to private email instead of group

I have a member of my group that would like to know how to replay to a post in the main group by replying to the member that sent the email to the group… in other words, so the email is personal instead of to the whole group…

?

A ?member of the main group sends an email to the whole group… another member reads it and wants to reply personally to the individual… but, when “REPLY” is clicked, the only option is the whole group, same as if “REPLY ALL” was clicked.

?

How can I set up my group so members have the choice of replying to an email message by either the individual sender’s email address or the whole group address

Go to Admin>Settings. Under Message Policies, it sounds like you have the "Remove Other Reply Options" boxed checked. Uncheck that and click on the Update Group button at the bottom of the page.

I would say instead of replying from the messages on the group's pages, have them reply to the email message they receive in their inbox. ?

REPLY ALL isn't a feature of the Groups.io pages, so I must assume the other member is replying by email.

Email services are not consistent in their treatment of REPLY versus REPLY ALL versus REPLY LIST (and maybe other variations). Generally speaking though, if your group's Reply To setting is "Group", the member will need to copy/paste the sender's address from the received message to their reply (replacing the group address).

Another option would be to use the Reply To Sender link in the received message's footer, if that link is present.

A better option, perhaps, is to use the View/Reply Online link, then click Reply to the message followed by the Private button. Assuming you (the group admins) haven't removed that option.

That's pretty much the default configuration, for those who reply Online. For those who reply by email, they need to know how their email interface works.
