Subscribers complain about not seeing their own posts via email
I have a couple of subscribers who complain that they are not seeing their own posts via email when they make a post.? They say they see replies to their posts, but not the original post.? I created a test subgroup and when i make post to it, I get an email with the post, but both subscribers say that when they submit a post to the test subgroup, they get nothing...however, whey they log into the web, their posts are there.? I had them check their spam filter, and they say they have white listed the subgroup.? One is a hotmail user and the other is a yahoo mail user.? One created a gmail account with the same result.? Is there a setting in the subscription config that I am missing?

See the instructions at?/static/help#dupemail, but check the box instead of unchecking it. Hope this helps, Bruce? -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |
Spencer,
I have a couple of subscribers who complain that they are not seeingI'm not sure what's up with either of those addresses, but the problem would be at the receiving service. Groups.io sends messages back to the posting member and does not have an option to do otherwise. Some Microsoft-powered email services are hostile to having messages delivered by an outside service (Groups.io) which claim to be from the user that the message is addressed to. They either mark it spammy or reject it outright. Have that member check The Email Delivery History tab of their Subcription page to see if any of them bounced. That wouldn't explain the Yahoo mail user. More likely that member is mistaken about the messages being diverted to Spam. Either that or Yahoo Mail has picked up some of Gmail's "bad habits". One created a gmail account with the same result.Gmail is infamous for this behavior. When a user sends the message to a list a copy of the message is kept and labeled "Sent". When the list sends a copy of the message back to that user Gmail sees it as the same sent message and marks the returned copy as "Sent" also. With the result that the returned copy does not appear in the user's Inbox. The Account setting Bruce mentioned overcomes this by rewriting the Message-ID field so that Gmail won't think it is the same message coming back.
