Help with Weird HTML Language from my iPhone/iPad Created URL in my Sig Line
Ugh.? This just started happening.? Apparently, groups.io is trying to decipher the HTML with my created signature line from my iPhone/iPad.? In order to create a URL in your sig line on an iPhone or iPad, you have to use some other named URL program to create one.? So, my signature line is this:
Patty Sliney On my iPhone and my iPad.? But, groups.io is adding all the below HTML language all of a sudden (you can see I used Cult of Mac to create the link below my name): <b>Your Name</b><hr /> <b>Your Name</b><hr /> <b>Your Name</b><hr /> <b>Your Name</b><hr /> So, should I post this on the Best Group instead?? Going to have to remove my created URL from my iPhone/iPad I guess, as I often will reply to list messages in my email program, from my iPhone/iPad. ? -- Patty S. |
It looks to me like Cult of Mac is adding it's own advertising, so it shows up on your posts.

Nope.? This has never happened before, Duane.? And, it ONLY happens with groups.io.? I send plenty of emails from my iPhone/iPad to other people/forums and this does not happen.

Patty, I just tested it - same URL - on my test site and my iPhone and MacBook. No problem.
Perhaps you are entering it incorrectly on Groups.io Go to Groups.io. Go to Subscriptions (left side) Scroll down to - Use Signature For Web Posting - Use Signature For Email Posting Tick the ones you want. Below that there is a text box.? You will need to use the URL tool for the Cult of Mac URL. I just copied it from the website. Scroll down and Save! Hope this is the problem. Frances |
Frances, my sig line is as you see, below.? This is how it should display on Groups.io.? I'm replying from laptop.? I am able to create a URL in my sig line with my email program.? However, with my iPhone, or my iPad, in order to create a URL that has text assigned to a web page, I have to use an after market program.? I used Cult of Mac to do that years ago.? It's been in my signature on both my iPhone and my iPad for several years.? For some inexplicable reason in the last couple of days, if I reply to a Groups.io email from my iPhone/iPad, and reply from my email program, Groups.io is displaying all the HTML.? It is only happening when I reply to a Groups.io email.? It isn't happening that I can tell, when I reply to anyone else from my iPhone or iPad.? So, that leads me to believe that Groups.io is displaying the HTML behind my sig line for some reason, all of a sudden.?? I'm not "entering it".? It is part of my email signature I've set up on both my iPhone and my iPad.? So, it "comes along with" when I reply to a groups.io email using my email program, from my iPhone or iPad.?
