Bulk Remove

Am I correct that if I want to remove a name from the Pending Member list that I can check the box next to the name and select Bulk Remove?

Thanks,

Ro

No. You check the box(es) next to the member(s) and then drop down to the "Actions" button. Click it to open a list of actions and select REMOVE to remove all the checked members.

Bulk remove is if you have a list of email addresses or user names. go ahead and click Bulk Remove - it's safe to do that - and you'll see the info it wants.

I would like a bulk remove feature for deleting messages (archives)
Especially the ones with attachments that are?eating up all of my allotted space.
deleting them one by one is a long time consuming process but needs to be done to free up
Some space. One of my groups is a graphic group and it is already at 1GB's in one month's
time. Ilene ?

While a bulk remove feature for messages (and their attachments) does seem useful abd should be considered... it won't be as convenient for you as features already available.

It seems to me that in your case setting your group's "Out of Space" settings to delete old(er) attachments when the group is out of space would achieve pretty much this same purpose with considerably less ongoing effort on your part. It will also delete as needed... giving slightly better retention time than if you delete something a week (or whatever) before auto delete would have deleted it. Granted auto deletion doesn't allow for selectivity, but when you're running out as fast as you are, you probably can't afford to be all that selective for very long anyhow.

I don't think the actual messages count against your storage total.? i.e message archives have no limit but attachments do
So as Jim H said, auto remove the most ancient attachments seems a less labor intensive way to go.

Don't forget that deleting messages is pointless if you are running out of storage space because messages don't count towards your available total. OK deleting attachments will help, but not the messages themselves.

Graphics are likely to guzzle storage space, and you might have to consider becoming a Premium Group (at cost) to get more, especially if you are getting close to the limit in just a month.

What percentage of your space has been taken up by each of Files, Attachments and Photos? Some fairly brutal deletions might be necessary, IMHO.

See the wiki entry on this at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Deleting%20attachments,%20files%20and%20photos

You might want to particularly look at the Attachments section. Click on the Size tab to sort by size.

I have looked at the attachment section and can delete them from there but?one by one. There has to be a better way to do that.
?
Unless I am missing something, the Wiki pages do not address this?problem of free up space with attachments any different then I have been doing one by one.
?
Right now?the messages have to be deleted one by one and in a month exactly my group?hit it's quota. Now my group is treated basically as an email group and not a forum where messages can be read at the home site or even replied to there. But I would really like to delete by bulk. Ilene?

I meant to refer attachments?rather then messages.
?
I don't need to become a premium member at cost because this is a hobby?of mine and I can close the group in a heartbeat as the group is basically an email group and not a forum where the messages are important to be read. I can delete them all each month and start from using 0.
?
But right now I need to know?if and how I can delete all of the attachments without having to do them one by one.
?
These are my stats
Attachments are now at 88% after I deleted a whole bunch.
?
Photos - 0%
Files 25 KB
Database 0%
Wiki 0%
Integrations 0 out of 5
?
About brutal deletions it would be all okay to delete all. Ilene

How do you auto remove?
That is what I want to do. I don't mind if all are auto removed. Less labor intensive then deleting them one by one.

I think I have the settings set at deleting older attachments.
I will check to make sure and if not set it that way.
?
So?by deleting older attachments?when I reach 100% it doesn't really matter or make a difference to how the group will be run.
?
No, I am not selective at all in what can or would be deleted.
My group never used the message feature for anything. We are basically using the group to get what is shared from Emailing them.
?
All that is sent through the group is saved via email.? The archives aren't important to my group at all.
So to me all can be deleted without any worry for me.
?
Thanks, Ilene?
