There is an automatic acknowledgement that you should have received immediately. If not
your spam filter may have captured it, or
something went wrong. But as to an actual response, as Bruce said that could take an indefinite amount of time. If there was a problem with the acknowledgement there's a possibility that the same thing may happen to the actual response.
