When I click on the links, they do what they are supposed to do so I can’t see the link. The new footers have my subscribers talking about how great YahooGroups was. It’s rose-colored glasses but it is the lack of a reply to sender that is the big complaint right now. To use the reply on website, they have to sign in and most have never done that. Then you'll get the footer format of your example. I'm not certain, actually, what happens if that's used in conjunction with Plain Text Only. It may be that it would first force the incoming message to plain text, then convert the outgoing message to HTML. When I click on the links, they do what they are supposed to do so I can’t see the link. ?It depends on your email interface. You may be able to hover over the links and have the URL displayed in a status line at the bottom of the window. Or you may be able to right-click on them and select Copy Link Address (or something like that) from the menu.? The tricky part is that those URLs contain a parameter which holds the subject line. So each is custom to the message, which you can't do with the group footer. And without that all their replies would be at the mercy of their ability to copy/paste the subject line. You could in the beta group that those links be added to the plain text footer. I agree that both footers should provide the same links (odd that they do not). I use Plain Text because we don’t allow attachments. When I was using HTML people were not attaching things but dragging them into the email or pasting them in. My biggest objection personally is that the emails become image heavy and ugly. People begin emailing just to send images — like Facebook sharing. It gives them some thing to say. Is there anyway to prevent that? I have a program that scans email for viruses — and it finds 3-4 every month just on spam. So it’s still a problem. I think that would be just as bothersome for them. If I develop some of the website resources they might not mind because there would be more to go there for. Sharon

The reason is that the Reply To Group and Reply To Sender URLs are particularly long and ugly. For example: mailto:toby@...?subject=Private:%20Re:%20Re%3A%20%5BGMF%5D%20Footer%20Links And that's with a short Subject line (this topic) with a lengthier Subject it gets longer accordingly. It is almost tolerable if the email interface linkifies it for you, but many interfaces which will linkify http: URLs don't linkify mailto: URLs.
