Using Apple Mail receives return -- Cannot Send Mail; the recipient "[email protected]" was rejected by the server.
We are Apple Mail users.?
I assume the member is using the from address of user@.... What address is the member using to send from Apple Mail? Has the user registered the second email address with their account. You can add alternative addresses.? Frances |
You can add an email alias - it is in Account under your name, top right corner.
Email Alias
If the email service you use for this account sends your outgoing messages from a different address than your account address, please enter your sending address here. Please note: No group email messages or notifications will be sent to this address; group emails and notices from group owners & moderators are sent only to your account address.

I use AppleMail all the time and I can¡¯t imagine how could be a bad setting in Apple Mail. Sharon, Thanks for your reply. I'm sort of new at moderating so my question probably seems naive.? When she sends from GMAIL all is fine (I assume she means that she's using a computer). When she tries to send from Apple Mail (maybe from her iPhone) she gets a box stating?
Cannot Send Mail; the recipient "SoleilCanton@groups I have an Apple ID which I rarely use but the email address is the same as my GMAIL address. I don't use the Apple Mail service so I'm not familiar with it (I use GMAIL even on my iPhone). I'll ask her if her Apple ID is different than her GMAIL although I would have thought that someone sending from an email not on the member list would have produced a different error message. ??? Apple Mail is a software program, like Outlook, not an email service like ymail or gmail.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi SharonAsk her what it says in the From line: And then ask her (or check if) that is the email address she is registered with . If she is not registered with it and she wants to use it, tell her to add it as an email alias. See my previous email. Frances |
Thanks for the advice. I'll get back with her later today. By the way, it's Colette asking. Sharon was giving assistance. Thanks, Colette Sanders On Wed, Mar 7, 2018 at 9:36 AM, Frances <frances@...> wrote:

Collette,
When she tries to send from Apple Mail (maybe from her iPhone) sheI don't know Apple Mail, but there ought to be more to the error message than this. In particular, there should be a three-digit error number followed by a text description of why the message was rejected. That information might clear this up. I'll ask her if her Apple ID is different than her GMAIL although IIndeed, what Groups.io reported would be different, it would specify that the sender is not a member of the group. But how their response is packaged and presented by Apple Mail is something I'm not familiar with. Possibly the more detailed message is in the box, or available through it somehow.
