An alternative being done by a lot of Yahoo groups is move the whole lot to?.?
For those who don't know?, it's pretty much what egroups/Yahoogroups used to be before Yahoo tried (and failed) to turn it into social media. There are tools to migrate all old messages and files from a Yahoo group, and manage a transition period with both operating in parallel for a short time without unnecessary duplication. Once migrated it works much the same way this does with email and web interfaces.
For storage, the free??plan gives you 1GB but you can also link storage from Google Drive which gives you 15GB free.

I haven't heard of this option before, anybody using? Google Drive instead of upgrading if your group needs more than 1GB of storage?
I don't think this would be an easy solution.? There's not a simple integration to use.? It looks to me like each person would need a Google Drive account, then share anything they wanted others to have access to, posting links as needed.
Some of the cats groups (not mine) ask that members use google drive to post cat lab reports, and don't allow attachments. People get used to it very quickly and it's routine in some groups. I personally don't like it much, but it can work.
