All Posts Need Approval #issue

Suddenly every post must be approved. Even my own posts.... I've apparently set something incorrectly somehow somewhere. But I've had no luck getting back to normal. Any ideas...?

Go to Settings, scroll down to Spam Control and uncheck Moderated. Don't forget to scroll to the bottom and Update Group.

The only two checked are RESTRICTED MEMBERSHIP and NEW USERS MODERATED.?

These members have already joined. And none qualify as "NEW USERS"....?

My own posts to the group are being moderated....

Sometimes these things happen. Sometimes, if you change it to a different setting, save it, then change it back again and save it, it'll stick. I don't know if this has ever happened in , but you could try it.

Maybe someone else knows of a different setting that needs to be working together with these settings?

Norm, in the members¡¯ list, is there a little blue n beside the names? I believe that mean that these members have not sent an email yet - in .

If your name has an n too - send a greeting to the group yourself. Once one message has been sent from an email address, the ¡°new users moderated¡± rule will be fulfilled for that email address.

Hello Norman,

?

The first thing I would check is to go to Admin, members, then click on the member row for yourself.? Check to see if somehow close to the bottom of the page you are set as OVERRIDE:? Moderated.? If so, then you have to check for not moderated and save.

?

I do not know how that would happen if you are the group owner.

?

IF that is not the case, maybe someone else here can make a suggestion as to what to check.

?

When you initially go to the members listing, if you click on E-mail, it will list all alphabetically which will make it easier to find yourself.

?

Doug

You could try looking in the Activity log for entries of 'Edited group'.? It won't tell you what was changed, but will give you a date and time that might jog your memory.

ALL new users are moderated in your group, including you. Go into your settings and check the number (1, 2, 3, or 4) in the "new users moderated" setting. That is the number of posts from each member that need to be approved before they are unmoderated.?

So every new member is moderated? There¡¯s no way to remove that? ?Thanks so much.?

No, that's not true in every group. I was answering the OP. His group is set to "new users moderated." You can have that set in your group or not.

You do have to set at least one of the three "spam control" settings to yes: eithe restricted group, or new users moderated, all users moderated, or announcement-only group. But you can choose which one(s) you want.
