ENUF OWNERs
I've seen a few great ownerless lists. But they pale and fade w/o an owner.
One had.3 owners. 2 died within a.month of each other. I PLEADED.with the remaining owner/list-originator to appt the single Mod until she returned from her planned month longntrip. "When I return." You might say she never returned. Her email was hacked, despite being a hugely experienced traveler.? NEVER get caught with 1 owner. SEALS have a saying; TWO IS ONE. ONE IS NONE. Live by it! In some lists, noone volunteers. I pick someone and "appoint/knight/crown" them, in this case. NOONE says No. I tell them that they may be a spare key if a piece of the sky falls.on me... and in which case, IMMEDIATELY DO AS I DID. So far, all do the very few approvals required, when I don't beat them to it. Past 25, GET a coowner. Past 100, get a Mod or coowner. Add instrutions to crown the Mod upon suspicion of a death. 2-400, add a Mod. They needn't DO anything, if / they desire/d.? "SPARE KEY!" That's your necessary mantra. Immediate backup! One is NONE...! BillSF9c |

Re: Embedding a sign up form in my Squarespace website
Hi Chris, yes I did in fact have a massive edit before I read all these messages, so it's been extra helpful going through each bit of feedback in this thread and implementing. Please be picky - feedback is brilliant as I have to admit I myself have struggled a bit figuring out this platform so I prob haven't made it very easy for new and existing users either.?
I have reduced the font size to 11 all over now - does it feel more user-friendly over all to you now? |
Payment for premium group package
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý
For the life of us, three members have searched and searched, I have sent 4 emails to the support email address.
How/where do we pay for our premium group package.? There is no 'click here' option to pay for anything.? HELP!?

Re: Embedding a sign up form in my Squarespace website
Hi Christos, this doesn't come across as criticism to me, it's hugely helpful and constructive and I'm really grateful for all this valuable feedback. I actually re-worked the homepage before reading any of the latest messages on this thread, and your suggestion on the cover photo worked a treat. Thanks so much

Re: Embedding a sign up form in my Squarespace website
Thanks, Chris. I am just catching up on all these messages but had actually reviewed our homepage and come to exactly the same conclusion - that there was unnecessary details and information making it hard for users to navigate down to the apply button. Appreciate the tips and will look to make the font size smaller too

New owner not receiving email notifications for pending approval
Hi everyone,
I have added two new users (A + B) to a group on Groups IO and added them as 'owners'. User A has a Gmail address and user B's email is associated with a big corporate domain (I mention that in case there is a firewall issue). All new email notifications regarding pending subscribers and messages, are being sent to user A at their Gmail inbox and are being received fine. User B, although they are an owner and I can see there are not bounced where I their member profile, is not receiving these notifications. Is anyone able to point me in the direction of how/ where I can troubleshoot this issue? Thanks so much |
Group ownership
I think I know the answer to this but will ask anyway
Can we find out who a list owner is for any given group? (free groups in this case) The situation I believe has happened is a group owner has passed away and messages are not being passed to the groups in question (possibly first time posts by a moderated new poster) and the group owner is not answering any messages I presume they did not have a joint owner or moderator in place so the ships are rudderless as it were Can anything be done? I suspect not from previous conversations -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) |

Sorry, in email, my paste doesn't work.I sent a reply about 18 hours ago but it seems to have vanished without trace! I'm not sure about the point you are making; perhaps I have missed something. What is displayed following a keyword search and what is displayed following a trawl through the alphabetical list of groups will differ, depending on the keywords used and exactly where they are in the Group Description; this is even true of the GMF! It would appear to be a feature of how Groups.io presents the results of any keyword search rather than any sort of fault or bug. Chris |

Hi,
Before I say this is a bug, I want to make sure I didn't miss something.? ?One of my members reported this to me, and I am seeing the same thing. I have an event with 24 members who have RSVP'd.? ?When I look at this event, on my desktop, 20 members responses show-up on the first page and 4 on the second page.? However when I look at the responses on a phone there are 20 responses but no link or indication that there is even a second page with additional responses.? ? How do I get to the second (and subsequent) page on a phone? Thanks Charlie |
Re: Zoom mp4 files
Sandi D.
Hi Maureen,?
I do the same as Bruce described with one of my grandfathered basic groups with a Wiki. Initially I linked the YT videos to a PDF uploaded to our files. But found it easier to insert links into the Wiki instead of editing/replacing the PDF.? If you don't have either Files or Wiki in your group, you could put the link to your YT channel into a pinned message and they could either subscribe or search for the ones they want to see.? There are a ton of "free" website and blog services. You can use either to host the links to your YT videos and link that website or blog in a pinned GIO post.? -- Sandi Dickenson |
