Main indicates you have subgroups. However the word doesn't matter when typing in the address of the group URL.

You can rename the group. See
/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/renaming-groups?single=true

Be sure to read the considerations and notes.?
Lots of places to change things, including your group notices.

#settings renaming email address #settings

It's been a while since I've been to this forum.?
I have a question regarding changing my group's email address, without changing the group name.
Long ago when I started my group, I used the email address:

[email protected]

I'd like to drop the Main (and remove the LakeNorman) so I can use:

[email protected]

as my email address for potential new members

From what I read I think that will work, so that present members won't notice anything.? Does that make sense?
Will that in anyway change my site's URL?

Thanks!
Norm

Have you tried logging into groups.io with the old address?? It may be non-existent anymore but unless if the groups.io account it was attached to was deleted, it's still there.

Arno, obviously your Rogers email address is going through okay with this group.
But to summarize, after changing ISP and email address, you have a group where you cannot log in as owner.
And you were the sole owner.
Correct.

Are you an owner or moderator of any other groups?
I am only an owner of the one group where I applied for membership with the new
Rogers address, made myself an Owner and then deleted the Sympatico address.
All other groups had disappeared and I applied for membership for those and got
it.

If you go online to Groups.io (any group including this one) and click on Groups.io or Your Groups in the blue nav bar, can you see the "lost group" as well as this group (GMF)?
No, the lost group does not show. GMF and all other subscribed groups are shown
and delivered to my Inbox, as available.
When I then clicked 'Login' it offered the original Sympatico and the gMail from
this mornings test. Entering the old Sympatico address it popped up the error
about bouncing. After un bouncing and trying again it come back as 'Your email
is incorrect'.

You mentioned a second email address. Did you mean that you have a second account that was a co-owner of your group?
Or just an Email Alias that allows you to send to the group?
No, no second account or alias.
This morning I attempted to change the Sympatico to my gMail address.

Have you tried the Email Me a link to log in?
Yes, but it then only shows me the groups to which I am subscribed.

Frances

If the Founder is no longer available how can the scenario of in fight amongst
several co-owners and deleting each other be prevented.
In my case the Founder disappeared after making me a moderator with limited
powers. Mark transferred the Yahoogroup in 2017 and made me the owner.

Unless I goofed up on something else, "should" instead of "will" is the reason
for the thread below.

I think we still need some basic info to help with your "lost group".

Trying to see if it is only the one group that has a problem:

Are you an owner or moderator of any other groups?
If you go online to Groups.io (any group including this one) and click on Groups.io or Your Groups in the blue nav bar, can you see the "lost group" as well as this group (GMF)?

Or any groups apart from GMF - that is working according to your email delivery notifications/

Or just an Email Alias that allows you to send to the group?

Have you tried the Email Me a link to log in?

Re: Due to eMail change lost group where I was the only owner

Two things:

1. The Member Help page has the info on changing email addresses.
/helpcenter/membersmanual/1/understanding-groups-io-accounts/setting-account-preferences-and-viewing-account-information?single=true

There are some important Notes in the section:

Note:?
?
This change applies to all groups you are subscribed to at the original email address.
If the new email address is already registered with Groups.io, a page appears that explains the account merge process and prompts you to verify that you want to merge your Groups.io accounts.
If you made a typo when you entered the new email address and you did not notice before you clicked Yes to confirm it, see Recovering your account if you enter an incorrect email address.

2. Are you still having trouble logging in? ?Did you sort it out?
