Sorry, Duane,

?

I think the calendar of Feb shows the passed days as well, that confused me.

Everything is o.k.

I'm not seeing what you're talking about.? Could you capture that part of the screen and attach it?

This seems to be a mysterious bug that happens to only some groups (including mind). The message goes into s black hole st random times. I would appreciate your emailing Mark at the support address about it, as well as adding your two cents to the thread on beta asking for a text box or other method. Someone can post a link here to the beta thread or I can do it later.

Am I misunderstanding how to use the Pending Subscription notice, or does it not work the way I assumed?

Calendar showing non existing days

Thanks, Duane,

the dates refer to the week days, but maybe weekdays like Wednesday do not play a role?

?

Anyway the GMF shows these extra days as well.

The Calendar page always shows 6 weeks to make sure the entire month can be seen in Month view.? The days shown from the previous and next month are lighter color (gray/grey) so that they don't stand out as much.? If you're actually seeing non-existent days, I'd report it to [email protected]? Mark has said that calendars aren't as easy as they would appear, so it's not impossible that there would be a problem.

This is something I would like to see as well. UPDATE some hours later.
Perhaps there was a problem in my email delivery system (I have a private email server) but in any case I did later receive my test Pending Subscription emails.

Still, the box for new members to write a comment to the owner/moderators when applying to the group would be a great feature.

Re: Contacting the Owner/Moderators OFF group - I'm Not Finding This ...

In my group I let members know to contact me through the email address I use to participate in the group and not the moderator address if they are having a problem or an issue. I let them know this is the quickest and surest way to get hold of me. Maybe in a much larger group this would not be a good idea. I haven't experienced any negatives to this approach, but there may conceptually be some.

First - if I want to report an 'offending/offensive' message then that
seems just fine. But it is 'tied' to the message.

Second - I use Digest mode ... a LOT ... and there isn't any such
method (at least that I'm finding) when using Digest.

Third - How do I contact the group owner/moderators when it isn't
related to a particular message -and/or- I'm using Digest?

My point is that, to me at least, every digest should include a
"contact the owners/moderators" and when I'm online I should
have a direct/easy to use method for doing so.
Here's the situation - suppose I'm someone who is upset ("pissed
off"?/hurt/whatever) about something related to a particular
groups.io ... and I want to contact the owner/moderators to
express that. I'm unlikely to find the methods in the answers
provided as 'satisfactory' ... and that will only make me more
upset.

Please note - I did not specify whether my 'complaint' is legit
or not ... the persons contacting the owners/moderators always
consider their complaint to be legit.
As the owner/moderator of several groups (on both YG and
groups.io) I can tell you that the likelihood of someone wanting
to contact the owner/moderators for any reason other than
being upset about something is VERY low.
Being able to contact the owner/moderators -easily- is one of
the basic services/features of a list service.

Calendar showing non existing days

Hello,
I saw that the calendar 2018 has 3 February days that do actually not exist. Could be they exist in U.S. (joke)?
Or is this just in my groups?

Re: Contacting the Owner/Moderators OFF group - I'm Not Finding This ...

On the Home page of every group are the email addresses needed for that group.? Scroll down toward the bottom and you'll find a section labeled "Group Email Addresses".? I very seldom use email, so I'm not familiar with the options contained in messages/digests.

You can set your default group settings using advanced preference. First post only, following only.

Re: emails getting [SUSPECT] added to them

Having done a few tests I have proved that this is due to the spam
filtering btinternet use on their outgoing mail servers. The headers
contain lines like X-RazorGate-Vade-Classification: a spam filtering
service by Mirapoint:

Only those sending via btinternet SMTP servers (which included myself)
were getting these headers.

Why the posts are failing this spam test is another matter but at least
I know it is nothing to do with groups.io as the [SUSPECT] gets added
before they even reach there.

[SUSPECT] Re: [cdxc] Dayton 2018

It is not clear whether this is being added by groups.io or their own
email provider - I suspect the latter.

Has anybody else seen this and can offer an explanation?

Re: Welcome letters

To expand a bit on Shal's comments.? The Welcome notice is generated automatically when you create a group, using the group name you've chosen.? When you later change the name, it doesn't get regenerated, so you have to change it manually.

Re: Owner messages

I agree with you, Marina. I would at least like to see private messages from group owners/moderators generate an entry in the activity log. As best I can tell, only invitations do.

Bruce

Re: Welcome letters

I didn't know you COULD change the group name. Did you receive a new approval notice after you did that?

Bruce

Re: Deleting folders #files

Double-check that you are actually an owner. If so, there will be a blue "owner" tag next to your email address in the membership listing.

Also check to see if someone has disabled files entirely in the group settings by mistake.

Failing that, I'm at a loss, given your other investigations.

Bruce

Re: reported a message as spam and was removed. via email

The member received a notice that included a link for them to rejoin immediately.? There have been multiple discussions about this, and possible solutions, both here and on the beta group.? Here are a couple of the more informative:
