RSVP responses truncated

Styling for the RSVP responses content allows very little room for display of response content, such that the content is truncated with an ellipsis (the full content is there in the HTML source). There is no way to drill down into an individual response to view all its content.

Re: Removed because of spam report

Shal, thanks for your response.
The person "unsubbed" is very computer illiterate and I do mean that!
What does the "unsubbed" person have to do after they go to the automatically generated link?
Or,does the link automatically re subscribe the person?
This person lives close enough that I may have to visit them to provide assistance.

Re: Now getting the daily digest as Spam.

Richard,

So I now mark the Digest message as NOT SPAM.
Didn't help.

You may have to continue marking them as Not Spam until the filter un-learns your initial mistake.

But I was not unsubscribed, probably because I am the Group Owner.

Correct, if you are the sole owner of the group Groups.io tries to prevent your unsubscription (by any cause).

How can I get the Daily Digest as an ordinary message?

Continue marking them Not Spam, and/or try Toby's suggestion of using a filter.

Re: Now getting the daily digest as Spam.

Richard,
Your mail client and/or email service provider is the one that is identifying the digest as spam.? You should contact their support.
Groups.io can't do anything about that.
If you are using yahoo mail, you might try to create a filter and force everything From: groups.io to the Inbox.

Re: Removed because of spam report

Don,

In Wiki under??Notice to member (from 22 March 2018)??RESUB LINK?is listed but the actual?link is not accessible.?
What is the actual link?

The actual link is auto-generated, unique to each case.
I presume that the group owner can send (and must send) this notice or is this notice sent automatically?

The notice is sent automatically to the user. The copy in the Wiki is just for your reference.

Re: Pending Membership Request - Pending Member Has Disppeared #membership

Patty,

Can a pending person retract a membership request??

Yes, by unsubscribing.
If so, shouldn't we see that action in the Activity Log (like we see a Pending Membership activity?)

Yes you should.
There have been reports that if a user deletes their Groups.io account that doesn't get logged in any group's Member Activity log, even though it effectively unsubscribes the user from all groups. So that could be what happened in your cases.

Re: Printable calendar #calendar

Norman,
I would suggest the following:
1 - forget the new google account, that just complicates things.
2 - in your google account calendar, delete the original subscription (Settings for Other calendars, expand the groups calendar entry, click Remove? Calendar)
3 - I'm pretty sure that your gmail address that you want to subscribe to the groups.io calendar needs to be your account email or an alias so check that (unless your group calendar is public, not sure on that).
4 - subscribe to the groups.io calendar which I think you know how to do - click the Subscribe, copy the URL, go to the google calendar, in Settings -> Add calendar from URL, paste in the URL.
5 - assuming that your google email has access to the group, you should see the group events in your google calendar.

Now, as far as events refreshing/updating in the google calendar, that may be spotty as I've seen a number of posts about it taking a long time and/or not updating.? It's not instantaneous and, IIRC, it's an overnight refresh.??
I have my group events showing in my personal google calendar so I know it can work.
Toby

Now getting the daily digest as Spam.

The Daily Digest now comes to me as Spam.
Probably because I accidentally marked the digest as Spam.
So I now mark the Digest message as NOT SPAM.
Didn't help.

My e-mail above is really a Yahoo address.

Thanks, Richard

You cannot import a table using the "Import Table" button unless it's in JSON format.?If you're in CSV, you have to predefine the table in GIO with exactly the same column names and data types. With the table thus created and open, then click on the "Import Rows" button at the bottom.

Hope this helps,

Re: member not receiving own posts

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

That I do not know the answer to as I use a gmail email address.
I do know that gmail usually doesn't send copies of ones email back to the user. Some other email providers do send one's own messages back to them automatically where gmail doesn't.

Thank you for previous responses.? Unfortunately this one member is still have this problem.? He has exhaustively checked the spam settings on his internet service provider server. Also checked his spam settings on his client computer.

Can someone confirm that the option mentioned above an earlier response, re: check box for 'receive copies of my own emails,' only appears as an option if the user has a Gmail address?? I do not see that setting in the preferences of this particular user, who is not a Gmail user. (he is using Big Pond, which is the Telstra email service (Australia)).

There are no bounce messages in his Email Delivery History.

I welcome any further ideas.

Pending Membership Request - Pending Member Has Disppeared #membership

Have a question:? This has happened before a couple of times, and just happened again, this morning.? I see in my Inbox that I have a pending membership request to one of my lists.? I click on the link in the email that says, "View Pending Member".? Instead of being taken to the Pending member's page, I get taken to the main Membership page.? So, I thought maybe one of my list mods had approved the membership, but, the pending person is not listed in the Membership section.? In the Activity Log, the only activity I can find for this person, is the "Applied for Membership Via Web" activity.? No approval.? What would make this pending member just disappear?? There is no explanation in the Activity Log for any further action by this person or by any list mods.? Can a pending person retract a membership request?? If so, shouldn't we see that action in the Activity Log (like we see a Pending Membership activity?)

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I believe only the member can change that setting so you would have to tell the member that wants their mail sent to them to check it off themselves.?

Ilene, re: your suggestion above, can you clarify, can only the particular user see this check box?? Am I able to see it as moderator, for that particular user?? Or do I need to ask the user to go to their own preferences and make the change.

Thank you

Thanks again Duane, do you think they will change that in the future?
How would you restrict it to just me the moderator/owner?
How do you open it up to everyone??

Re: Importing a csv list

For the database, check out /g/GroupManagersForum/topic/25152282

Not sure what you mean by Y! size?? There is no limit on messages, though only the last 100,000 will be copied unless you upgrade to a Premium group for a year; /yahootransfer

LIMITED ACCESS TO ADD ATTACHMENTS

Ellen Bourne

Question, I have one person in our group who want to add some attachments.? How do I give them limited access to do so.

Importing a csv list

Good morning,

I have recently subscribed and created a group, prior to copying our Y! Groups information.

We have a csv database (created in Excel) and despite having attempted to import it, it won't!? I'm obviously doing something wrong and will appreciate any advice.

Also, is there any method of determining the size of our existing Y! group?? I suspect that some information is in need of filtering out.

Looking forward to your assistance in due course

Regards

Peter

Re: subgroup creation fails?

I just had exactly this same problems.
Almost identical screens.
Same pink message at he top of the Home screen after I click on the Create button.

There are no members in the primary group, as I have just created it.
Is that required?
