Re: New Group Not Being Created From Yahoo Groups
I double checked, I have exactly followed each of these steps. A couple of issues:
1) the invitation to [email protected]?never appears on the YahooGroups activity log - when i invite them, it says sent but then never appears as a member 2) the yahoogroup never appears in the Progress drop down list (it does show several other groups that I have transferred without this issue) cathy |

Diana,
11 Email addresses? On io? NO way.I didn't mean that they were all used with Groups.io, only that you have that many. Used to have cricket654me@... as well in io but it says I don¡¯t haveI don't understand what you mean. What "it"? And what does it say that you don't have? If you've lost control of that email address and it was the one which owned the group that could explain the problem. If this is the issue then your focus should be on regaining control of that email address. I have tried every single one of my 11 email addresses and only theDo you mean that all of the others gave you an error response when you sent to your group? Were you able to try that test with cricket654me? Last ditch attempt: from that address, try posting a message to [email protected] and see if that is received at any of your other addresses. If there are other owners of the group include a description of your dilemma and a plea that they promote you back to owner. NONE of the others have any connection to io.The one place left to look for clues is the group's Activity log. Which unfortunately you can no longer access. Your next step would be to ask [email protected] for help. It isn't supposed to be possible for a sole owner to be demoted from that role, but if there's another owner support may suggest that you contact them for help (as above). question about bouncing members.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHey all,
?
I was wondering is there a way to manually unbounce someone?? I see
the only way is to go and have the automated message sent out, but I was
wondering if there is another way to do this?
One of my members is having trouble, and I found out she was
bouncing.

Facebook group "integration" idea
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question. If not, please advise.
I've read up on old threads on the topic of Facebook integration, and realized I had misunderstood what it actually does. I had initially thought that FB group posts could be automatically forwarded to a Groups.io list, but it turns out to only work with FB "pages" -- and only public ones. Today I thought of a possible workaround. FB has the ability to send email notifications on posts to a page or group. So my idea is to add a [email protected] email as a member to a FB group, and then the mailing list can be configured to receive those post notifications by adding Facebookmail email address to the subscriber list and optionally moderating it. It seems sort of obvious, but I haven't seen it suggested before. Is there a problem with this idea that I'm not thinking of? Thanks, Su |

My guess is that the something that happened is that you started sending from that address, which is still New User moderated, instead of the address you had been using. You could try the simpler experiment of sending a message to the group from each of your email addresses. Those addresses which aren't members will get an error back saying that they aren't members. But I'm betting at least one of your other addresses will be able to post to your group, and that one is likely the one you were using before.
You can approve your posts by email, but only if you are receiving the pending message notifications by email (Subject: Message Approval Needed ...). You won't be receiving those notices at this email address, as we've seen that it is not a moderator or owner of the group. But those notices might be coming in to one of your other addresses (the one which is). You should be listed as owner, but that does not automatically make your postings unmoderated. Whether a message will require approval is primarily governed by two controls: the member's Posting Privilege setting and the group's Moderated checkbox. In the Members list of the group you can click on a member's row to open up that member's subscription settings. At the bottom is the member's Posting Privileges. A member may be set to use the Group Moderation setting, or to override the group setting in various ways. In general discussion groups it is most useful to have most members set to Use Group Moderation Setting most of the time. That way you (the owner or moderator) can easily quell a flame war or other disturbance in the group by changing the group's setting. Find the group's Moderated checkbox in the Spam Control section of the group's Settings page. Bottom line: if you never want your own messages to be moderated then change your own Posting Privileges to "Override: not moderated".
