I follow up to Bruce's option. There's also a link in their subscription page, if they are bouncing, and they can click on that as well. They don't necessarily have to click on the link in the email.

Did you send the email from the account that you were subscribed to that group with? If you check the Activity Log for the time you sent it you may find an entry that says 'Non-member <emailaddress>

I'd first check the activity log to see if there's a record of it being received - or possibly rejected. Also make sure you're actually sending it from the email address that is subscribed. Pete
