If the group Owner has chosen for the group to not appear in the groups.io directory, it won't show up in a search. See

Set up your group as an Announcement group (Spam Control tab). You can easily switch it to something else once you get everyone invited and things settle down.

Donna: try changing the word "for" in your desired email address to the number 4. That will reduce the number of characters from 35 to 33, which is under the limit. -- Robert R.
