Jim, Perhaps the Wiki will help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/How-to-Split-Threads /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/How-To-Merge-Threads True. And when members reply to that

Re: Splitting topic #split
Thanks! It seems like you shoul dbe able to split the latest message from the rest, but I guess you can't. -- Jim Poston@... << 'Drop the guy with the devil ears.' -- NBC, June, 1965. >>

Re: Splitting topic #split
You have to do that from within the topic, at a certain message within the topic to specify where to split it. Go to the bottom of any message, click on "More," and select "Split." -- J

Splitting topic #split
Is splitting a topic still a G.io feature? I remember a huge discussion about it, but now someone has created a totally differnet thread by replying to an unrelated thread becauset hey did not know

What are the capabilities of a Facebook integration?
I run two (formerly Yahoo) groups which happen to have counterparts on Facebook. I am a member of those Facebook groups but, unlike the Yahoo and now Groups.io groups, the Facebook groups were not

Re: Group Guidelines email #Discussion
Duane, Before the weekend would be good. I don't think posting it sooner (today even) would be a problem for Mark, and it would prompt the other members in beta@ to think about it and comment. Shal

Re: Group Guidelines email #Discussion
I considered that, but Mark has said he's pretty deep in getting the search updated right now. How about Friday morning so maybe he'll notice and can think about it over the weekend? Duane

Re: Group Guidelines email #Discussion
Duane, Looks like a good summary of our conversation to me. I don't see a need to wait that long. I think we've had ample discussion, and we probably want to get the conversation into beta@

Here's the text of the message I plan to post on beta@. Let me know if there are adjustments that should be made. I'll wait until at least Monday to post it over there. ---------- On GMF, we've been

Re: Interaction between moderated messages and unsubscription of (same) moderated member
Bob, I was puzzled by a similar circumstance with a member who was unexpectedly (by either the member or by me) unsubscribed recently. The point could be argued, but the logic may be that once the

Re: Reasons for emails/messages not being delivered
Bob, From the screenshot: This means that the member's email service attempted to verify the Return-Path field in the message, and for some reason that failed. Ordinarily the Return-Path field is only

Interaction between moderated messages and unsubscription of (same) moderated member
The sequence below left me with a puzzle * Moderated member posts two msgs at about 2:30pm today * Same two msgs appear on "moderated email to be approved queue" with same date/time prior to next step

Re: Reasons for emails/messages not being delivered

Re: solution to problem of deleting a topic and also locking it
The only way to both lock a thread and delete its content (or delete any message within it) is what I described in an earlier thread: you have to redact all the content of every message in the thread

Re: Reasons for emails/messages not being delivered
IIRC in the past the blocking filter was your primary spam filter, eventually replaced by newer Spam filters. You can't access it from an app, you have to use a browser. It is not all that hard to

Re: solution to problem of deleting a topic and also locking it
Oops. No, it wouldn¡¯t work. Once you delete a message, people can still reply to it via email and get around the locking. That¡¯s the whole point. Sent from my iPhone

groups.io down for past 1-2 hours?
Anyone else experiencing this? For at least the past hour, possibly, two, I can get into the home pages of groups but if I try to do anything else, I get the "undergoing maintenance" kitten pics. Yet
