Re: [email protected] not working for me

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I've issued the invite to [email protected] several times now an still no acknowledgement.

I tried email [email protected] but it just says 'non-deliverable'.

Could anyone help me please by sending the support my email address?and telling them I can't get through.

Most grateful if you could help me.

The irony is that I could easily create this member myself and make them a moderator, but that would be no use if they don't know my group on Yahoo exists!

Regards, Howard

Are you receiving emails from a Groups.io group but have never visited the Groups.io website? You probably don't have a password set up yet. Use the Email me a link to log in button above to log into the website.

Perhaps also emphasize Yahoo on this statement there:

We will accept the invite and then send you an email directing you to
make the [email protected] member a moderator *of your Yahoo group*.

Sarah,

Took me a while to find it, too. Look for the link at the BOTTOM of every group page.

Hi Prasad,
I'm feeling really dense, but where is the "Start a New Transfer" button. I started a group, and the group page does not seem to have it. I started it yesterday, so if there's a waiting period that may be it, but there was nothing I saw to indicate that.

Even I¡¯m logged in, the messages in my group NB6GC do not show me a Reply button?

Does the New Topic button appear in the left-hand column?

What happens if you attempt to post a message to the group via your email interface?
?
Go to the Groups.io home page. In the list of your groups, what badges are showing next to the group name NB6GC?

We could be more helpful to you if you would answer Frances' question directly, rather than making an unrelated statement.

Following up on Duane's comment, what does the page show you in the location where Reply should be in the bar under the message? Refer to the screenshot below for an example:

If you could provide a screenshot of what you are seeing in your group's messages that might be most helpful in figuring out why you see no Reply.

What does it show for your EMAIL ADDRESS? Is it the same email address that's subscribed to the group?

In groups.io, your name means nothing...your email address is your user ID.

Also, be advised that logins expire after 30 days or whenever you delete your browser cookies.?My guess is that if you log out and then log back in using the email address that's actually subscribed to the group then this problem will go away.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Yes,? it's in the 2nd set of check boxes you get when you actually start the trasnsfer process which is after the transfer.io user is annointed moderator in the Yahoo group

You can add content to the message, but you can't eliminate the message entirely nor even edit the boilerplate that surrounds the customized section.
I think you can edit the boiler plate - at least that is the implicaqtion.? In the Group Settings page, the top menu has a button for "Member Notices".? where you can apparently add or modify the boiler plate messages.? There is a check box there also for "Active" which I don't understand and it seems that if the "active" box is unchecked you get a default message and if it is checked but the text box for the message is empty you also get the default.? I just don't see a way to not send a message at all and based on replies I've gotten here it seems you can't turn it off completely.

Re: Maximum Photo size

The Maximum Photo Size setting reduces any uploaded photos to that size, it doesn't reject them.? The size when viewed online may also be different than stored size.? I limit one of my groups to 312x312, but they show as about double that on my monitor.

For email size, it reduces them before sending them out.? If they're sent as attachments, that can be further limited so it's a link when it's over a certain size.

Several of our members are on slow services, so I try to be as accommodating as I can.? I remember those days well since I only got 'reasonable' speed and capacity about 3 years ago.

Re: Maximum Photo size

It is my understanding that Groups.io does automatically resize.

If you check settings, the photo section says:

Max Size In Photos Section?
Automatically resize photos uploaded to the photos section that are larger than a specific size.
?
Max Size In Email?
Automatically resize photos that are larger than a specific size in emails.

Frances

Re: Cannot reply

If the topic is locked, it will show Locked instead.? You could also try with a different browser in case it's a setting on your end.

Maximum Photo size

Group:
I have had complaints that the large photo size allowed took too long to download.
So I changed it to 1024X1024 for photos in a message, and 2048x2048 in the Photos section.
Now I get complaints that this will reduce messages and annoy subscribers when they find their large photo is rejected.
Subscribers feel that the Group settings should not be determined by those with slow services.

Is there any way the underlying software can automatically reduce the submitted photo sizes to the value set in the Settings?
This is instead of rejecting the photo.
.
It is not a comment on the quality of the resulting photo, since 1024 is reasonable for the purpose here.
No photos in my technical-purposed Group will ever be made into a 8x10 portrait.
And the lower value settings require all members to reduce the size of their photo before posting.

Thanks,
Richard
Anyway, if someone wants the large original they can get it from the original poster.

I'm now about a week out from sending two invites for the last of the groups I am moving. That's a bit longer than the previous 3 groups took, but for now I assume that the process is ongoing as the Groups.io transfer page says my invite has been received and I should hear soon.

I beg to differ. If you click the "Yahoo Group Instructions" button you get a list of steps that are needed. At the top you see a note in pink background that reads "NOTE: You must start the transfer process for your group?before?you send an invite to [email protected]. If you sent an invite before starting the transfer process, and [email protected] is not already a member of your group, you will need to send another invite.
