Re: Third Party Relay
Basically, we want to have any emails coming from this group to be routed to our email delivery partner via an SMTP relay.? They will then successfully deliver the message to the inbox.? This would be done by entering SMTP address, username, and password into the group's Groups.io settings somewhere.? I just was trying to figure out if this is possible before we become invested in this platform.
Thanks - Ginny |

Is anyone else having difficulty opening an excel file on their iPhone? I've got a multi tabbed XLSX file saved into our groups Files section and while I can open it up and view the tab headers, I can't see the actual contents of the tabs. Other users in my group are experiencing the same thing. All groups.io does when you click on the link is to send the file as a binary stream. What your system and browser subsequently does with that stream depends on how they are configured. Most computer browsers will permit a right-click on the resulting document display to bring up a "save as" dialog box. I can't speak to what your iphone is capable of doing. ? Re: Who can see all pages of Directory?
Elizabeth, there are two places with group member names - one that is complete (members in the Admin area) and Directory. Not everyone may be in the Directory - you can opt out. For example on this forum, only 187 of 864 Members are in the directory. Frances |

Re: Who can see all pages of Directory?
Elizabeth,
Although I can see the entire directory of members in my group, others say they can only see the first page of names. That's likely correct. Mods and Owners can see all members in the directory. Members can see only those other members who've chosen to make their profile visible to other members (or to the public). The members can edit their visibility in the Group Profile tab of their Subscription page. ? Is there everyone in the group can see the entire directory? ? The other option is to make the Members list visible to members. But that list includes email addresses, join date, and other info that most groups don't want to be shared. I would only recommend this in Restricted membership groups where the members know each other well and would be ok with sharing this info.Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Re: Third Party Relay
vglockwood,
Does your platform allow us to set up a 3rd party outbound relay for the emails to our group? Could you explain what that is? If you want group messages forwarded to an external list (relay) that might be tricky to get past the address confirmation stage, unless your group upgrades to Premium and uses the Direct Add feature.? If you want messages from an external list (relay) to be posted into your group you probably need to use an email integration, and add the integration address as a recipient to the external list. Thanks, Duane. Infinite Scroll doesn't work. Instead, it just gives a false sense of security. I changed back to 100 per page. I've reported this as a bug to beta.? |
