Re: Photo size reduction
I believe the nearest choice is actually 1024x1024.? There shouldn't be any problem increasing that after the transfer, it will just use up space faster.? If you haven't already, try uploading a few photos using different settings for the limits.? You may find that the upload size isn't as important as some people think.? I've got a couple of my groups set to 312x312 and we haven't missed anything yet.? Actual displayed size on a 19" computer screen is about 720x720.

Photo size reduction
Mike Conder
So now that or group is in the transfer queue, our photo archive is too big for the free 1 GB ... we're at 1.8 GB.? The transfer agent says we can cut that down to about 300 MB if we reduce photo size to 1080x1080.? We're OK with that for the old photos but not necessarily Ok for new photos.
But an idea is to set photo size to the 1080 for the transfer, then? once the transfer is completed we reset the settings to allow larger photo for new photos.? Question is, will that work? Want to be sure before we do this. TIA, Mike Conder |

I don't know how well it would it would integrate with the services your current email delivery partner provides. My suggestion is to make of each and everything that your email delivery partner provides, that you either currently use, or wish that they provided, and see how many of them are currently available through Groups.IO, with an Enterprise Subscription. For each and every item that is not available from Groups.IO, file an RFE, explaining what the item is, how your organization uses/will use it, and how it benefits both Groups.IO and you. jonathon |

Re: New member: question about Group owner email address
Michael,
I'm owner and chief moderator for a 750-member group with a total of five moderators.? We draw up an annual schedule and each moderator takes a shift of two weeks or a month at a time--so we have a "duty moderator" and a backup on duty at all times.? That means each moderator has about 10 weeks on duty as moderator and another 10 as backup, not at all burdensome. To keep group management simple, we created a single Gmail account for all five moderators to use.? For example, if our group were named ABC the email address would be ABCmoderator@....? About 99% of our moderator work is done using that Gmail account, and that means any time there's a question about what was/was not done by another moderator, the duty moderator can look back at past emails and sort out exactly what happened with only occasional need to ask other moderators for help.? Having that Gmail?account for our multi-moderator group has simplified our?moderator lives and has been a godsend. KISS (keep it simple, stupid!) works great for us! Milt Baker P.S.? I added a group_management hashtag to this post hoping other moderators will pass along useful group management tips.? As this forum shows, there's a lot we moderators can learn from one another. |

Re: Transfer requirement
Anyone that can make [email protected] a moderator on the Yahoo group can do a transfer.? It looks like you need to be the group owner here, based on the instructions.

Re: Default "reply to"
No changes needed if you just want to reply to an individual from time to time.?
On the group site - click to reply. Type your answer. Then click on Private - bottom right. Follow through. From your email, you likely have a reply to sender in the footer. Just to show you, I will email this first privately to you! Frances |

Subject: [GMF] Can members enlarge the font size of messages they view on the groups.io site? ? Hello - I am a new member of this group. I am a member of two groups that transferred over from Yahoo, and I am the administrator of a group on Yahoo that is considering moving over to Groups.io. We have a couple of members who are vision impaired, and they have asked if there is a way that, when they view their messages from the Groups.io site, they can make the font size larger so that it is possible for them to read the message. Is there any way that the member can change the font size of the messages they are reading? Or a way that a member can have everything on the site in a larger font? ? |

Re: Default "reply to"
That would be on the group Settings page.? Scroll down to Message Policies, then change it in the Reply To box.

Re: How long does the Yahoogroups conversion take
Have you received the notification that the invitation was received by groups.io?? If not, you should send it again.? If you have, just wait until you get the notice that 'transfer' is a member so you can make them a moderator on your Yahoo group.

Re: Can members enlarge the font size of messages they view on the groups.io site?
Virginia,
Or a way that a member can have everything on the site in a larger font? They can certainly use their browser's zoom feature to enlarge the entire page. In many browsers holding down the Ctrl key while tapping the keypad + and - keys will zoom, and Ctrl plus the keypad digit 0 will restore the normal size. I don't think there's a separate feature in Groups.io specific to enlarging text. Also, Groups.io has been working closely with some group moderators who are reliant on screen readers, adapting the Groups.io HTML where feasible to make the audible presentation and control access clearer.
