If you can get the contents in Unix Mailbox (mbox) format then Mark should be able to upload them for you. That's the same format currently used for message archive export. You would have to subscribe your members separately.

See?

I don't know what priority he might give this request vs existing Y!Gs and other projects. Last I heard he was working on a full-group export function...something I would dearly love to see for backup/continuity purposes.

Re: Mistake: member unsubscribed from group?

There's no need for you to send them anything.? When this happens, they'll get an email from the site explaining what happened that includes a link to resume membership.? You do need to let folks know about this possibility.? There are several threads here about this very thing, along with a page in the Wiki, /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Removed-for-spam

Mistake: member unsubscribed from group?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

The group I own was officially transferred today. [Hurrah!] I didn¡¯t think that with a group of nearly 600 members and 16 years of posts it would be such an easy transfer.

That being said, I received a notification from groups.io:

¡°This is to notify you that NAME OF MEMBER has been unsubscribed from your group NAME OF GROUP because a message to them was marked as spam. Note that this may have been done by their email service provider, not by the individual member personally.¡±

?

Our group has discussions that are led by panelists. This notification was about one of our panelists. I sent him an invitation to rejoin the group. Will that fix the problem? Is there something more I should do?

Thank you,

Paula K Parker

What I ended up doing was just giving them the archives in the MBox format or what ?ever that is called All o them got?transferred. I then sent an invite to all members and most of them accepted. It took about maybe 2-3 days at the time and that was about in august of last year.

Take care

Re: Date Order for Photos

I see. AFAIK there's no way to list all photos in all albums.

Re: Date Order for Photos

Peter,

? Thanks - but that sort is only after you have selected the album.? I want/need to be
able to sort?all photos by the date they were posted (regardless of album).
? In addition, I?need to be able to "search photos by name" where the name is a?
partial or even?allows the common " *string* " kind of search argument.

? Many members will post a photo - and not include a link ... and, depending?
upon the group rules, the photo may/will not be in the message ... or the user
didn't actually put the photo in the message.

Jim, they do sort by date.
Unfortunately, that's only within an album.? I think what Jim is looking for is an overall list, by date, of photos that have been added in any album.? Definitely a good suggestion for the beta group, if it doesn't already exist.

Re: Deleting original owner account?

It shouldn't.? However, I'm not sure what would happen to anything you "own", such as files or photos.

Re: Import group from Mailman

You've done all you can.? Mark decides what will be implemented and when.? Since there appear to be far fewer Mailman lists than Yahoo or Google, I suspect it's way down the list of priorities, if it's even planned.

FYI, one of my requests took almost 2 years to be completed.

Re: Date Order for Photos

Jim, they do sort by date. There's a drop-down in the upper right that lets you choose the sort field.

Re: Accuracy of Yahoo Member List Export? #addmembers

To export mine (1,150 members) I just went to Management > Manage Members, scrolled down to the end, copied all of the data, pasted it into my text editor, copied that, and pasted it into Excel. There was some cleanup required but it worked well.

Btw, the Chrome app didn't work when I tried it.

Deleting original owner account?

If I make someone else an owner, and then delete the account with which I originally created my group, will that cause any problems with the continuation of the group?

Re: Wait list for RSVPs #calendar

Thanks, Duane. I¡¯ll have to convince the event planners that this will work. It would be great if there was an email choice to get in touch with?
Those on the wait list, in addition to those who replied affirmatively.

Import group from Mailman

Hi Folks,?

I've searched high and low yet I have not been able to locate any recent updates on migrating a Mailman list into Groups.io. Date Order for Photos

? When searching for images in Photos it would be VERY helpful to be able to
sort them by DATE.? Many times we are looking for some picture or other
that has only recently been added ... and when you don't know the name of
the album ...?

Re: owner getting every message posted

Thanks, Shal. Here are the answers. I have also attached a pdf of the "show original" message from gmail.

1) Do the individual emails have the standard group footer at the bottom?
Yes.
2) Are you receiving them in your Gmail user interface?
Yes.
3) Does Show original show a single To address, or multiple? Does it show any CC addresses?
Single.
4) What is that (are those) address(es)?
[email protected]?
5) Are you also getting a digest for the primary group?
Yes.

Re: owner getting every message posted

They are messages.
I believe I can mute, but I'll confirm.?
These are both initial and replies.

Re: owner getting every message posted

My apologies. I realized as soon as I sent the shots that they were way too big. I thought I followed up with smaller ones but I don't see them here.

Re: Wait list for RSVPs #calendar

According to the information I found:? A wait list is automatically created when the event fills up, so no further YES replies are accepted.? If a YES becomes a NO, the first one on the wait list is accepted, provided it won't overfill the event if there are guests.? If the first waiter has guests that would overfill, I'm not sure if it would go to the next one on the list that wouldn't overfill it.? If yours aren't working like this, you should contact [email protected]

Wait list for RSVPs #calendar

Southenders Admin

I'm looking for info on RSVPs. I'm trying to make them more useful to my group, as we have lots of events and some fill up. We need to be able to set up wait lists. That means knowing the time that a member RSVPd, and creating an email response to let these people know the event has filled up. While I can pull up time from the activity log, it's not an easy answer for advising the member of his status.
?
Any help from other users would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll ask for help in the beta group.

This is a feature of the premium group, for those unfamiliar with it.
