Question

Rosalee

I was told we are only allowed a small amount of storage. I have stationary groups and I would like to delete old e-mails and also any pictures attached to the e-mails. Where do I do this and how can we monitor the space we are using ?
Thanks for any help.....

Re: How long before transfer of Yahoo Group?

I sent an email to [email protected] and they stopped the procedure and directed me to start it again. Apparently the system lost me somehow. ? I had already added [email protected] to the moderator list before the sequence broke in the first try.? This time the sequence completed in a couple of hours.? I'm all set with our group.

Group starting date

?

Hi, transfer team,

?

thanks again for transferring my YG

?

?

to groups.io!

?

My question: The starting date of my yahoo group was:

?

11.Sept. 2000. In the new group the starting date is almost 4 years later.

Group Information

Can you tell me how I can have it changed back to the original date?

Thanks for answering

Beate

Re: #poll Creating Polls #poll

More questions about polls...

I would like to be able to set a poll to close automatically on a given date and then send the poll results to the group. Is there any way to do that with our polls here?

Thank you,

Re: Member not receiving group emails

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply and suggestions.? I'll keep them in mind for the next time (and you know there's gonna be a next time :))

She's now receiving the group mail and is happy :)

I doubt I'll ever know exactly what happened... but as long as she's happy she's getting emails again... I'm Ok with that ;)

Thanks, again,

Re: Is the main Transfer onslaught over yet?

Hi Paul! I am not the Paul you were addressing but would love the guide you created. I was not able to contact you offlist, since your email address, as I can see it, does not exist according to Yahoo.

Thanks!

Patti

Re: Still waiting for group to transfer #transfer

Mark,

I've doubled checked?/yahootransfer?and I'm sure I've done everything on the checklist, now I'm stumped as to what do next.

I'd email [email protected] to see what they can tell you. Include both the name of the Yahoo Group and the targeted Groups.io group. Send from the email address you were logged in with when you set up the transfer.

Re: Email invites

Nevermind, it just took a while to register the invites.

Email invites

I'm moving a group over from Yahoo Groups. I've tried the migration tool, but like others report, it just doesn't work. No action is initiated. Instead, I'm trying to now invite by email, so I'm using email addresses like "Joe <joetest@...>," hoping to get their first name specified in the salutation. It says this is an option. Unfortunately, the invites are not created. No error message, but no confirmation either and no pending invites.?

Okay, so while composing this I just tried a raw email address, e.g. joetest@... and that did not work either. Is there some sort of delay or is email invite just broken for my group.

Is Concierge Service still accepting issues from that guy? Because for
most of this year, and maybe even parts of last year, that was the only
way to get anything fixed.
Since all has suddenly gone silent on this front, I'm suspecting user error of the login variety.

Not sure why that should be the case, but it explains it.
That's news to all of us, I think. Thanks for sharing.

When replying to a message online via the Groups.io website I used to see a speech bubble in the formatting toolbar above the reply window preceding the "Format" title. I now don't see it.
I reported this to support and got the following reply:? "This is fixed now. You may need to do a hard reload to see it: hold down the shift key while clicking the browser's reload button."

Still waiting for group to transfer #transfer

It's been over a month since I invited?[email protected]?into our Yahoo group and made them a moderator. I had created an in-process transfer with all options ticked and the group was approved but nothing has happened since.

A few days ago I invited?[email protected]?again and created another transfer request but still nothing has happened.

I've doubled checked?/yahootransfer?and I'm sure I've done everything on the checklist, now I'm stumped as to what do next.

Re: Is the main Transfer onslaught over yet?

Hi Paul,

I'm a member of CRL and we have talked before. I moved my groups a couple of months ago and have not looked back. Your problem is going to be with the size of the group, so be prepared. My large group was 780, CRL is 10 time that. I had 40 Bouncing members, mostly Yahoo addresses, that didn't show up on Yahoo Groups, you will have ~400. I think you get the idea.

I started by posting "Special Delivery" emails to the members so they would be prepared, even doing this left a few who didn't read. Additionally, 40 members left the group and when questioned, they were not active on Yahoo and decided to leave.

I also put together a guides that I can share.

Just was curious as I've kinda been waiting for the greater bulk of the transfers to start to wind down a bit before I start a transfer of my group over to Groups.io.

Duane, I guess it is worth saying that clicking on download creates a .csv report (not sure of correct word).?And perhaps put it in the wiki?

I went into my subscription and enabled the Pending messages then tested the "Bcc to me" and "Bcc to all moderators" again.? Still did not receive any extra messages, only the message to say my message was rejected, the same as I got the last two times I tried this.? Therefore, enabling the pending messages did not help and the "Bcc me" and "Bcc all Moderators" features do not work at all for my group.? I can get around this by copying my message and pasting it into a new message for our Admin team but that is an extra step that the other moderators may not do (or may forget to do) and it would be much easier if the feature worked for us.
Sorry we still haven't gotten you where you need to be. At this point I suggest sending a message directly to [email protected]?with a screenshot of the checkbox in question and a description of what you need it to do. I believe Mark intended to fix your problem but something may have slipped through the cracks on his end.

Good luck,
Bruce

Re: Member not receiving group emails

Hi John,
First, in Yahoo mail it is called Spam, not Junk and she may be looking for "Junk."

I have a genealogy group for Monmouthshire, Wales and have several members with Yahoo.uk email addresses and have no more complaints than are normal for Yahoo. Many have abandoned them for email addresses that work. Like Verizon/Yahoo Groups, their email is not reliable.

Verizon/Yahoo mail has had and continues to have periods where they don't deliver, send emails to spam &/or bounce the emails. I know that it has been suggested to check your bouncing list to see if she is on it, yet you didn't say if she is. If she is, she needs to clear the bounce.

The last thing I'd try is to remove her from the group and invite her back, if you have a premium group you can add her back. Her groups.io password should still work.

So... that brings us back to where I started this thread.? I've already asked her to check her Junk Mail folder... I'm pretty sure she hasn't implemented any new Rules but will ask, just in case.

Just to reiterate, she's using the Yahoo.co.UK address... and, of the actively posting members, she's the only one using that email domain.

Hopefully there are others on this group who have that domain for their email and can verify that it is or is not working for Groups.IO at this time?

Right, basically only we moderators were effected by the NEO change.

(though we always try to poke people to read a group at its site, so can look
at Files, search archived messages, etc.)
And your "peeps" were not able to do that from the links at the bottom of group eMail?
