Earthlink is bouncing my emails

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I¡¯m the owner of 2 legacy premium groups, RockridgeNeighborhoodWatchNetwork (745 members) and RockridgeNCPC (251 members).? They were once Yahoo groups; I moved them over when Yahoo died.? I¡¯ve been sending 2 emails about 3 times a month, without issue, since we moved to Groups.io.? Last month I sent out the meeting minutes, and both my copies (sent to me) of the messages bounced with this message:

?

mx02.earthlink-vadesecure.net: 550 5.7.1 Connection refused - [45.79.224.7] blocked by Vade Threat List - ELNK001_101 - https://postmaster-earthlink.vadesecure.com/inbound_error_codes/#_101

?

Today I sent out (separately) an email of crime statistics to both lists, and they both bounced to me.? It looks like everyone on an Earthlink domain has been blocked by this <deleted expletive> threat list.? I¡¯ve talked to Earthlink (which owns my domain mindspring.com) and was basically told ¡°don¡¯t send all that at once.¡±? These emails are all sent because local persons interested in crime in our neighborhood have ASKED for them.

?

I realize this is primarily a problem with my ISP, but is there anything anyone at Groups.io can do to get the site off the Vade Threat List??

It doesn't matter. If you sponsor a group at $10, the group's sponsorship fund is credited for $10. Groups.io pays all transaction fees. Mark is eating that cost on the premise that as long as this feature is available more groups will go Premium.

P.S. I do understand that some folks are opposed to Paypal, for reasons we won't be discussing here. If you're concerned about them getting any money, use a credit card.

Sponsorships #question

I have just added the Sponsorship feature to one of my groups. I have read the HELP section about this feature and I see that 100% of the sponsorship amount gets applied to my group's upkeep. I am wondering how Paypal treats the sponsorship amount if a member chooses to use Paypal. Is it treated like a purchase, with a fee charged to the receiver (IO Groups), or does Paypal take a cut if the sponsoring member uses their credit card linked to Paypal to pay? I'd like to be able to inform my members how that works if they use Paypal.

Well Rob, I was wrong on this.
?
1. Display your 2024 database and click the Export Table button
2. In the resulting dialog box, select JSON format. Click the X at upper right to close the dialog.
3. The resulting JSON file will be found wherever your browser downloads are configured to go.?
4. Return to your list of databases and click Import JSON
5. In the resulting dialog, browse to the file location and import it
6. An identical database should now appear in your list. Be sure to rename one of them.
?
Hope this helps,
Bruce

If you want to import some of the 2024 data rows, your new database must have the same number of columns, in the same order, with the same data "Types." Any modifications?you have planned will have to wait until after you've completed the import.
?
Hope this helps,

If it were me, I'd open the original in one tab and the new one in another.? That would allow you to compare the settings and 'copy' the setup.? When creating a database, you assign column headings.? The row information is what you enter later.? Our Wiki page may help jog your memory.? Some of the information is a bit dated because of changes that have been made, but it should help.

Difficulty creating new database.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hello,

I'm going in circles in my attempt to create a new database for 2025.
I want to recreate the 2024 version with a few modification.
I'm not finding routes to do this properly. I can create row or columns
but not both. It very comes out right.

I've tried? creating a new file and down loading, but don't know how to changed
the file for the system to re-import it.

This is for the Critters Den Critique Group.? Highly creative.
But Data dumb.

Attached is a snap of the 2024 version.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Delete Group

I am just guessing, but is it possible that the translated commands are incorrect or point to the wrong place or action? I see you are owner of the group so you should be able to do it.

I forgot to inform you that when the deletion check appears I enter the phrase I understand and the system returns to the list of my groups with the group I would like to delete entered.

Oggetto: [GMF] Delete Group

Good morning,

wanting to remove a group of my property I followed the instructions I
found on your site, that is, I entered the group that I would like to
delete whose owner is only me. I have removed the registration of all
members of the group. I went to the Settings by going to the bottom of
the page I clicked the 'Delete group' field, but I did not receive the
notice that the group has been (or will be deleted) and is still active.
Where did I go wrong? Thanking you for any response.

Dario

Re: Bouncing

Simply logging in by the member and going to their Settings and then
Bounces will get them to the right place without needing the email.

If they don't have (or can't find) a bounce email, you can send them another Bounce Probe from their member page (at the bottom).

Re: Bouncing

To un-bounce themselves, a member must follow the instructions in the email from Groups.io.
?
I believe our Wiki page is up-to-date:
?
You can't unbounce them but you can see their subscription. Go to Admin, Members. Find their account - search or filter for bouncing members.
You can use the dropdown menu under Membership to see Email Delivery History and Activity History for that particular member. You can see the date that they were marked as bouncing.

No. The person can click on follow in the email footer. Or on the group page - Follow This Topic.

The usual workaround is to suggest they just set up a filter in their mail client that detects this guy's email address and sends his messages to the bit-bucket.
?
That won't change what they see online in the message archive, but muting doesn't either.

There's no way to do that.? There IS a to allow one member to mute another that should accomplish what you need.? You may want to offer your support for it.

Re: What happened to the option to have membership pay groups.io directly?

Sponsorship is the name. You enable a button on the homepage. Users
can pay in, Groups.io doesn't add a processing fee. They hold the
funds. As owner, you just watch the reports or check in the Billing
page of the Preferences to see the balance. When it comes due, they
take the amount from that balance.

Very simple. I enable the button until we had a couple of years'
worth, then turned it off again. When that gets down to only a year
left, I'll turn it back on.

Not Ban - Ban

I've one user that seems to be utilizing all the bandwidth in the group. So much that another list owner is considering quitting the group. There is a mostly silent owner and two fairly active owners.
?
Is there a method to direct all a user's posts to his personal topic? At least that way other users could mute or unfollow that topic.
?
Another method that would be possible, but that would require a highly active moderator, that is "Override: moderated" for that user. That would mean active moderation and long post lags.
?
Thanks for any ideas,
Dave F.
