Re: Deleting old attachments in a free group

Hi Jidi,
?
You can access the attachments by selecting, ADMIN - PREFERENCES - UPGRADE, then you will see under Current Plan Free you will see a link to View Attachments. On selecting this you can then select which you wish to delete.
?
Hope that helps.

Deleting old attachments in a free group

Hi - I have hunted in vain today to find where the Attchments are listed so that I can delete ones that are years old
as my group reaches it's limit.? Since we are free we have the 1 G limitation.? Members of the group know that?
we need to trim the attachments and have downloaded any that they wished to save.??
?
I looked in the Member's manual and the instructions there listed a method but the correct path was not
there.? I searched every other possible area that I could find but could not find anyplace that listed the?
attachments so I could delete them manually.? I did find that I could go to the very oldest conversations to
find and delete a single message at a time.? Then I was immediately returned to the very newest message
page.? With thousands of emails to plow through this is tedious beyond belief.? There must be a better way.
?
Thanks for any help.
Judi

Simply having other hashtags present does nothing to override a mute, unless those hashtags have properties that also affect email delivery (as Andy noted, #Special is one of them).
?
If you've followed one hashtag and muted another, and they both appear in the same message, I don't know which takes precedence. I suspect the follow might, because you must currently have your subscription set to "Following Only" for that to even be an option. But I have not switched my subscription options back and forth and fiddled with hashtag settings enough to test this. I suggest you try to break it and let us know what you find out.

It can depend upon the settings/attributes of the other hashtags.? The following applies:
?
#generalhashtag #muted? => no email sent
#generalhashtag #special #muted => email sent as the Special attribute overrides the mute
#generalhashtag #special #noemail? => no email sent as the No Email attribute overrides the Special

Hello

Does anyone know what happens if a topic has several hashtags, including one that a user has muted?
Will that topic still reach them due to the other hashtags? Or will it be muted despite all the other hashtags present?
?
Thanks

There is no system protocol/tutorial. The system help is useful. It's a little out of date, but . If you display the Owners Manual or the Members Manual as a single page you can use your browser's search functions to find information. The FAQ can also be handy.

Hope this helps,

Re: attachments photos images

? ? ? Sorry have been busy with other things so not been responding in timely fashion. Anyway, not sure where to find the ¡°Topics View¡± feature so have not been experimenting with it. I did try posting to the Groups.io website directly instead of via email from my Mac Mail program and got sendings with a blank space where the pictures are supposed to be, but no actual posting of any pictures. But the process is somewhat cumbersome.
? ? ? Nonetheless, wondering if someone from Groups.io has been looking at some of the postings as yesterday¡¯s postings of my list did show up with its pictures in the right place. Maybe they tweaked a feature to fix the problem. Hope it stays that way, but will see what they subsequently look like going forward.
? ? ?Wish someone could send me a protocol for me to follow to fix these issues myself so I don¡¯t have to bother anyone for help. If anyone is willing to do this, they can email me at: lum40@.... In any case, thanks to everyone else for making suggestions and trying to be helpful. Have a nice Holidays.

orepack.com is a parked domain so you won't be getting any help from them.
There are some BizTrack support groups on Reddit. You might try asking around there.
Low probability but try contacting Epicor and ask if they have any clues

You said you used two different email addresses for GIO.
No body has picked up on your dual email addresses.
Any overlap in any group with your two addresses?

If the bounce messages are coming from a user who belongs to one of your 30+ groups as an auto reply to the group, then it¡¯s likely that others in the group are also receiving the bounce messages. You as NOT-admin cannot check for which member may have that email address, but the admin(s) can.

?

Perhaps you can post a message to each group, asking if anyone else is receiving the bounces, and asking the admin(s) to check for that email address in the group(s). A bit of copy/paste labor to send 30+ messages to your groups, but a great enough reward if it stops you from dealing with 50 messages a day.

Re: Clockwork Bouncing

I'm at a loss to explain why you're continuing to receiving these emails. Or why you might have gotten one in the first place, for that matter.
?
I think Nivard is on the right track, though. At this point I'd probably create a mail filter that heads off any message containing bistrack(at)orepack.com and sends it to the bit-bucket.

¡°I understand perfectly. The big problem is, I am subscribed to over 30 email lists. Which one is it? I don¡¯t administer any of them. Does this mean I¡¯m going to have to go to 30 email list and find out who it is by writing to the list owners? What an annoying headache!¡±

?

In that case my previous comments aren¡¯t going to help you except as background info on how some things work.

?

Two things come to mind:

?

  1. Based on?Nivard Ovington¡¯s post, Bistrack is a software product (suite ?) apparently produced/marketed by Epicore.? Do any of the groups you are in perhaps related to business applications (finance, ERP, etc.) where reference to this type of support might be made?? If so, I¡¯d look at those groups first.
  2. This could be totally out of your hands, as it could be one of those quirks that shows up from time out on the internet: A long, long time ago on a hobby related group back on Yahoo or even Onelist a message was blocked because of spam.? Something in the e-mail caught the attention of some random domain¡¯s filters out there and it flagged the message as spam ¨C not the sender¡¯s domain, not mine, not the groups.?

?

Most likely, its not your problem and there¡¯s not much you can do about it.? Delete them when they show up and move on to the next message.

?

Best regards,

?

Re: Clockwork Bouncing

Most would assume that those subscribing to this group are mostly group owners or moderators, it appears you are neither, so would not receive admin messages

It seems that Bistrack are part of a company supplying tracking software for businesses, hence the name, try a google of it

Why you are getting them I cannot say but why don't you block that address, as its clearly not one you want to receive?

Steve Matzura inquired:

¡°Every day at about the same time, plus or minus two or three minutes, I get a "your group is bouncing" message from groups.io. The number of rows varies. Today it was fifty messages in three hours. All the rows in the table look like this:

5.0.0 smtp; 552 5.2.2 <bistrack@...>: Recipient address rejected: Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full)

What mailbox? Certainly not mine--I know this for a provable fact. So then, what is orepack.com and what connection do they have to either me or groups.io?

And another interesting thing--this only happens on one of my two email addresses that have email lists on groups.io¡±

Just to be clear, topics can be locked, but not messages. There have been [rare] occasions that I'd actually like to be able to lock a single message, just to keep someone from editing it (without changing the settings for the entire group). Not an option at this point.
