Re: Changing email address immediately after subscribing - suspicious?

Maybe they use different addresses for different purposes and accidentally joined with the wrong one.

I often see people changing their emails, but usually not within an hour after subscribing.? I am trying to figure out what this means, and whether I ought to report it to the management.

There are other things about this member that one might label 'suspicious', but I don't want to unnecessarily waste Mark's time.

It's on the far right, across from Discard.

How to delete a Wiki page

I'm sure this is a pretty basic question.? How do I delete a Wiki page?? If I select edit I still see no delete option.? If I hit the red "Discard" button nothing happens.? Am I missing something really obvious?? I've been going in circles...

Thanks,!

I have group members who join, ask a question, participate in the discussion, and then leave.? A few weeks or months later they are back with more.? And the cycle repeats.? I think they just don't want to remain a group member and receive all the emails all the time; but only when it suits them.? I am OK with that.

But I do not understand joining with one address, then barely an hour later changing their email address, their username, and their display name.

Depends on your nature I guess.? I've had folks do this a few times, but never saw anything suspicious in it.? However, almost all my groups are Restricted, so they've already satisfied me that they are who they say they are.

Hi, good question.

I also get a individual who is always changing their e mail. I get notifications from groups Io stating so and so has had a change of e mail

But I don¡¯t know why

That is very questionable to me, especially if they are always leaving the group and wanting to subscribe days later.

Thanks for asking

If they replied to an invite, that wouldn't be a surprise. They accepted and then changed to their preferred email address. However if that isn't the case, it does look suspicious.

I'm guessing one of your groups is using one of the newer mail servers and as your mail provider hasn't historically seen lots of messages coming from the newer sever it is rate limiting it. Messages should come through but may take a bit longer as Groups.io retries sending them. ? What's the IP address of the server that is being limited?

Send Message to Member email subject difference admin vs member

Hi all,

When a member sends a DM to another member, [DM] is prefixed in the email subject but if an admin does the same it doesn't, is this by design?

Cheers,
Christos

A search located a past thread speculating that the badge may be part of the effort for language support in some files or forms.

Hi Dario

Is it possible you are using the Italian interface? IL could stand for Italian language.

I've never seen an IL badge before so am not sure.? Can you provide a screenshot?

Also, I would like to know if it is possible to reset the address with Bouncing to a normal address.
No it's not. See the Owner's Manual on bouncing - especially the last line.

Thank you for your kind reply regarding the Badges and the icons of the Mailing List subscribers, but there is no information on the IL Badge image on a fuchsia background in the list.

Also, I would like to know if it is possible to reset the address with Bouncing to a normal address.

Dario

I should add that there are two relatively new badges that haven't made the manual yet and they are RS & RI. These relate to account re-verification and that's described on the Reverification FAQ</static/reverifyfaq> page.

If you click the Filter button on your member list and scroll up and down the options, you will also see some descriptions.

Membership Mailing List

Notizie Radio

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Good morning,

I am the administrator of a group and today when I looked at the subscribers' list I noticed that a subscriber next to his e-mail address has the letters IL on a fuchsia background, while another who has never participated in the Mailing List has the letters B on a fuchsia background.

What are the meanings of these two letters?

Please note, for information, that both members have never posted on the mailing list

Is it possible to restore the normal registration of both subscribers ?

Thank you
