What did they mean by Sign Up Genius?
In the marketing of groups.io, they claim that an enterprise groups.io account can replace several other services.? I understand how groups.io does many of those things, but they specifically mention 'Sign Up Genius' and I can't figure out any feature in groups.io that would take the place of sign up genius.? Am I missing something?

Printing wiki pages
Is there a more elegant solution to printing the content of wiki pages, other than highlight by hand, copy, and paste to a printable document?
My group does a number of activities that are staffed by volunteers.? I think the best way to get good instructions for those volunteers is to create 'how to' pages on the wiki, so the volunteers can update those with whatever they learn each time they do a thing. However, many of our activities are such that printed instructions would be more useful, and sometimes we'll do something where we have 20 volunteers doing 20 things at once, and easy printing for the day of the activity would be a bonus. |

Message order
I need help with ordering the messages when I'm in the message tab so that the most recent message is on top. Somehow by doing a search I got the messages showing with the first one on top, some 60,000 messages ago. I can find no control on the order beyond the down/up arrow on the right margin. It only changes the order that the messages move through in being displayed. It doesn't change the order of all 60,000 messages back to the most recent on top. I find nothing in the manuals concerning this. I guess they thought it was so intuitive that no one would ever need to look it up. But I can't solve it. So I need help. Thanks.

If they are talking about problems seeing the photos on the Groups.io page (not by email) you need to ask your members how they log in - by putting in their password (or using their fingerprint or face to do it) or by automatically logging in on a device and browser they have used the Email Me A link on. And then find out what operating system they are using. Perhaps it is a problem due to an upgrade with their operating system. (I haven't moved my iPhone or iPad to the very latest yet.) Re: orange photos
Donald and Duane, I appreciate your willingness to help. Your answers, along with another one sent privately, clarified the problem. I was trying to determine what a member, who is not signed in with her password, would see when following a link to the photos. I was informed that they would not get past the sign-in screen, which answers my question perfectly. So the problem is an issue with her Apple system and one of my members gave us contact information to AppleCare (1 800 APPLECARE (that¡¯s 1 800 275-2273) in case anyone else might need that. Annual fee re-billing
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi folks,I messed up and forgot to put (sponsor) the annual fee amount for one group, and today I got the downgrade reminder email as GIO attempted to bill the amount but nothing was available.? I since went and sponsored the group: The Pay Invoice button only works with a CC, so my understanding is GIO will attempt again to bill and this time it will find the sponsored funds and things will get taken care of, correct? Clarification of wiki entries regarding changing a group name
A group I own needs to have the name changed to keep up with the intended subject matter. In the wiki, on the page referring to General Settings, under Group Title I see "In this field, enter a short, descriptive title that will be displayed on the group¡¯s home page in Groups.io along with the group¡¯s email address. This title is also displayed in the?directory of publicly listed groups?if you opt to list your group there. This field is optional, but it is good practice to provide a descriptive group title." Then in the next section (Group email address) I see "This field contains the email address you entered when you?created the group. If you decide to change that email address, make the change in this field."?
Does this mean if I don't want or need to change the email address, but only the title of the group in the publicly listed groups and on the home page, I can just change the Group Title on the group's home page? Or must I change the email address? I really don't want to have to change the email address, as this group was started on Yahoo! in May 2000 and some of the original members are still in the group. The email is still somewhat appropriate to the subject matter, but obsolete. In searching for answers to this in the message archive here, the closest I could find was creating an alias for the group, but that was for Premium groups only, Is this available for legacy Basic groups? So you need to find out if she is logged into GIO or not when trying to view the photos. She can do that in one of two ways, using the "send me a link" option or simply logging into GIO if she has set that up. If she has not set that up, maybe she should, and then, if she uses the same computer (phone, tablet, PC, etc.) to access the group and logs in, then accesses the group site at least once monthly, she will not have to log in again. If, however, she is logged in and only sees orange, suggest trying different browsers. You might also ask which browser she uses. If she's seriously internet-challenged, ask her when she expects a relative or friend to visit who will be able to help her and set up a phone call to include that person in the conversation. Better yet, perhaps set up Zoom, Skype, or another way of you seeing her screen and helping her. orange photos
I own a group that is private and our photos are only visible to our members. One of my older members, who is not very computer literate, is telling me she sees the photos as orange when she follows a link to the photos in one of our messages. She is using an Apple computer. I haven't gotten an answer from her yet as to whether she can see the photo and it is shaded orange, or whether she is just seeing an orange box. Not having a Mac computer, I can't offer her much help other than giving her the link to sign into her IO account in case that is the problem (which has often happened with her in the past)
? ?What I'm wondering is, in a private group, would someone not signed in be able to get to our photo albums at all ? Or reach the album level and the photos are obscured? As you all know, it's hard to guide a member from a distance, especially when they are not computer literate so they can't really relay to you clearly what is happening. Annick |
