Re: Groups.io Digests and Thunderbird

I use Pegasus Mail as my email client and don't see that problem, so I suspect
it must be a Thunderbird quirk.

Hi Marina

Be sure to check the settings in Membership. That¡¯s where they are set.

Prior message copied in replies

So I know I'm probably missing something pretty basic here.? Is there a setting that allows a reply to a previous message include either the first few lines or the full body of the previous message?? If so, where is it located and is that set by individuals or can it be set by moderator/owner?

In our new list, we've had a few instances of long threads with multiple confusing replies, like "I can do that" or "Yes, I agree" that have no connected context.

PS Have really been appreciating this group and all the info on it, it has helped me in moving three groups from Yahoo to IO.? Thanks all, and especially you, Shal!

I too use Thunderbird to read the groups messages,
but I don't see that. And I too keep my TB updated to
the latest release.

Re: Approving new members

Is your group restricted or unrestricted?? Restricted groups require approval by owner or moderator for someone to join.

Are you sure you're not looking at the Pending Approval list?? That's the default Member page view when there are any pending.

re changing members address

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

One of my members has emailed me asking if I could change the address with which he joined the group.
Is that possible for me to do, or does he have to do it himself? If so, how?
?
I have to say how well my new group is running.. it is such a pleasure to get mail practically instantly, and how quickly I can upload files without error messages.
?
Cheers

Address to contact group moderators #moderation #subgroups

I am going to create a private subgroup for moderators of main group.
Should members of main group need to contact moderators, how could they do?
Is there a way to set up a specific address to be used by all moderators?

Marina

Re: Group . IO front page

Yes, I meant to correct that.? If the photo is smaller, it just puts it in the center.? If it's larger, it scales it down until the height and width fit within 900x300.? On one of my groups, I used an editor to put 2 photos side-by-side so it covered more area, but it's still only 640x240, so some extra white space on either side.

Duane

Re: Group . IO front page

Thank you, Duane.
So the photo chosen for the cover must be equal or larger than 900 x 300.
The one I originally chose was smaller and the system did not scale it, it simply placed the photo in the centre, leaving two blank spaces on each side.
