My guess is that you transferred a group and the group members as a whole are resistant to change. Or that you transferred a fairly inactive group. Did you discuss the move ahead of time in the old group before making the move? I moved a group of over 4,000 members but it was a low activity group by the time I moved it. It's purpose has run its course. It was about growing hops and it was formed during a world-wide hop shortage after a large international hop storehouse burned down. Hop prices went through the roof, and homebrewers (of beer) wanted to grow their own hops to save money, and others wanted to get into the hop farming business to make money. The shortage was back around 2007, I think, and back then we had over 100 posts daily. Now we have less than 5 in a month. The shortage is over, and prices have dropped, partly due to many new entries into the supply chain. If you moved a group that wasn't active, I wouldn't expect moving to groups.io would be a magic solution to inactivity. I would actually expect less activity after moving since some members may not know how the new platform works, and others won't appreciate being moved to the new group. If this doesn't address your question, we need more information. Donald |
Re: paid, transferred the group, crickets
I did my group of? 500 members from yahoo groups and it worked quite slick. Everyone is thinking I'm a Guru,? and I really haven't done that much.?? It was a small learning curve,? but I have it up and running after just a couple of days. To help,? I need more details - where did you come from,? how big was the group,? what exactly are your problems - maybe i can help.?? If I view a topic and click on the date link at the top right of the topic I can choose which order to view the posts.? The topics are listed in date post created order.? I would like them ordered by edited date and if not edited by posted date.
How may I see the posts in this order, please? |

I had ~600 topics. I used an auto-mouse click program to delete them all :-).
Per your suggestion, I created a subgroup, but it had only the owner shared from the main group. I would have to re-add all 2500 members, and they would be notified of the subscription, unless there's a way around this or I'm misunderstanding something. ioimport.pl now shows my four mbox files contain a total 10324 messages (deleted messages excluded) 1515 email addresses need to be changed, see needchange.txt Of those, 735 are NotMember, 735 are NewUserModerated, 39 are Bouncing, 3 Bounced, and 3 Pending Please tell me I don't need to resolve all of these to have a successful import! Thanks, Mike |

As you see from my test this evening, you can take out crazy fonts and colours with "normalize" in settings. ?However that may not be your question! I set my browser preferences for larger fonts. The method (an image is either attached or inserted) seems to me to be dependant on the email application.? Outlook always attaches files (unless you? go thru permutations,) while iOS always inserts them.? ?How they are received also seems to be unique.? iOS always leaves them inline,? ?Whiile Outlook seems to consistently leave them attached -- or duplicates w/ an attachment if one is inline.
