Re: Not receiving any emails from groups.io

Thomas,

On the day that GMX blocked the messages and notified Groups.io, you should have received an email from Groups.io. It would have explained that they had received a "suspected SPAM" message from GMX and would cease mailing to you. There was a link in that message for restarting message delivery.

You may not hare realized that you needed to click the link.

Re: Attempts to transfer photos individually from yahoogroups forum to new groups.io forum

I always thought the little download arrow on the thumbnail images was a very handy and easy way to download images from Yahoo groups. It didn't take me very long at all to grab those pictures I thought were worth saving from my groups.

Bill -- Are you having difficulty downloading photos from Yahoo? Uploading them to groups.io? Moving them from one folder to another?

Are they JPEGs, GIFs, BMP, TIFF, or some other format?

"Can't copy photos" doesn't really tell us what the problem is.

Dear Lena,

we used your programm to read in the old mails delivered by the download
of the dashboard. The original dates are entered in message source (of
mbox) but are not delivered into the new groups mail archive but as
sent-date you get the upload date (of today, for instances). Now we have
the question if there is any possibility to enter the date of the
original mail into the uploaded old mails?
My program transmits original Date, but groups.io ignores it. I added an option (turned on by default) to insert original Date into beginning of message body.

I also fixed a bug (a deleted message caused next messages in a mbox file to be skipped).

Re: Not receiving any emails from groups.io

Larry,
In my case it was only the GMX mail robot that blocked the messages automatically, and Groups.io received the rejection message.I have not received any information, I only found out on our Groups.io website that I had been missing quite a few messages.
Now some messages are coming in quite delayed, others not at all. However I think this will sort itself out in a couple of weeks or so.

So if I don¡¯t have thunderbird, there is no other way to open and extract my messages?

How do open these files?

You need an mbox reader, such as Thunderbird.

If you use something like Google Calendar, you can subscribe your group calendar to it so they're synchronized.

But will it exprt more than the 1000 member limit imposed by Yahoo? Up to 1000 can be simply exported to a CSV with a button in Yahoo, and can be easily opened in Excel.

Attempts to transfer photos individually from yahoogroups forum to new groups.io forum

Hi,

Since apparently a group transfer mechanism is no longer available, I attempted to transfer one photo

at a time into a new album.? I continually get failures stating: "invalid type of file, only 'image' files are supported"

One would think that jpeg files would be supported.

Hi

Yes, if you go to your settings and then go to export and there is a check list of what you want

When you submit, a note ill be sent to your inbox and there you can download the file then extract.

I am having difficulty in extracting the .mbox files of my messages

Re: PG Offline

1. Export the 1000 messages to a file,
2. Delete from PGOnline the messages it downloaded.
3. Start downloading again.

PGOnline allows you to download 1000 messages and 100 members at a time. Once you erase the info downloaded, you can run again.

Calendar

What is the significance of the "Subscribe to Calendar" button on the bottom of a Group calendar?

If a calendar is set up with an event with reminders, aren't those reminders sent to all Group members? Does "Subscribe to Calendar" affect this calendar message?

Success!?

Thanks Shal for your deep analysis and spot on advice to this tricky issue. She discovered she had 2 accounts (or perhaps accidently created the second one yesterday). In any event, she was able to merge them today. She has now successfully posted by email to our group. ??

I hope with yesterday's YG transfer deadline, your workload and that of the other GMF mods will decrease (somewhat) and you can eventually return to a more normal life.?
