Yes, that is the case and would explain messages not delivered during that time. But after I turned off the No Email option, shouldn't they have all received the most recent special notice? |

Bruce,
If you click on the "View/Reply Online" link in any message footer, itI agree. Fortunately for me it is only the links in Digests that do that, so I don't get hit with it very often. RFI-EMI-GUY,
While visiting some groups I subscribe to, but do not manage, I foundIf you begin a New Topic or Reply, but then leave the page without either Sending it or Discarding it then it will be saved as a Draft. Is it a bug???The mechanism is supposed to ignore an empty draft. But I don't know if it ignores spaces, tabs, returns or other non-printing characters. If you click on the "View/Reply Online" link in any message footer, it not only takes you to the message online, but opens the editor for you to reply. This creates a draft, which persists until you log out, even if you didn't type anything. To avoid that, be sure to hit the Discard button before browsing away. I find this annoying, and made a suggestion in beta not to open the editor unless I ask for it, but the notion never got much traction.? Bruce |

Re: Mbox imports
Duane,
Mark just posted this on the API subgroup of beta.Yay! This should be a great boon to those would-be transfer users who were stymied by their inability to invite or promote the transfer agent to their Yahoo Group. Now all they need is the mbox's returned by Y!'s getmydata function and they can at least get their messages imported. Maybe we should work this into the transfer related wiki pages. Thank you Duane for clarifying deleting ones OWN MESSAGES on beta.

Frances says it is disabled. It evidently is not disabled. Do you know Frances? Hey Frances - where do you get this evidence??? Are you attempting to delete someone else's message? If so you are missing the point and causing unhelpful expectations. I have just spent 3 hours hunting down your assertions. Duh. Stan,
But I see a variety, including the initial welcome message toThat's intriguing. I understand what Bruce is saying about the Bounce history being absent activity from other groups, but I'm not sure that applies to the Most Recent Successful Delivery box. And if it does, then those intervening messages in other groups should make the content go blank, not refer to an older post in this group. The Message Selection option (Membership tab, Advanced Preferences) comes to mind, but my understanding is that Special Notices are supposed to bypass that. Also, I suspect very few members have even noticed that, much less used it. Could they have been on No Email part of the time? Gerald,
Maybe I am missing something, but I don't understand why there aren'tFor Y!Group refugees that's par for the course. On the other hand, Y!G does put fields in the message header to reveal approval and edit. I suggested in beta that Groups.io do likewise but the idea wasn't liked by owners who were afraid it would cause members to single out particular mods for their ire. It wasn't acted on. On the other hand, I very much appreciate the moderator's notes onI got into that habit long ago, at the example of a more senior mod. And I generally approve of transparency. So, "you're welcome". What I do is open the "template event" in one browser tab and cut-and-paste the contents of each field manually into the "new event" dialog in another browser tab, changing things as necessary. It is burdensome, and hopefully someone smarter than me has come up with a better way. 2. If I set a reminder for the event, will it be sent before each day? With a reminder say 5 days before the event, will it send one 5 days before the first day, then 5 days before the second day, and so forth?)I believe so, but have not actually tested this for a recurring event. 3. Is there any provision to attach a flyer or other image to a calendar event? Not really. You can embed an <img> tag for a photo hosted on another site and have it show up in the Event Description, but if the photo is subsequently moved or deleted a broken link will show instead. The process is kinda weird and unreliable, see?/g/GroupManagersForum/topic/31532132#16547?for details. I don't know if it would work for a PDF or any other data type. If you try it, please report back on what you find out. Bruce |
Re: Stuck at waiting for first email
Nancy,
Getting nervous as I have a subgroup to come over as well.If neither the subgroup nor the Yahoo Group it is to come from are involved in other transfers at the moment then it should be safe to run this transfer concurrently with the one you're running now, even if that's to the primary group of the subgroup.
