Has the stale invitation been removed from the sent list?? I was under the impression that when an invitation was canceled/removed that it could no longer be accepted.? If that's not true, that could be a solution to this situation.

I know that on the Trello list (which hasn't been updated in over a year) there are several items under the Invitations list, including making that system 'smarter'.

Jens-Uwe -- Like many aspects of Yahoo Groups, sometimes the invitation system is balky.

I did transfer my first group fine, and all works nice. With the second group (which is already a paying group) I invited [email protected]?and nothing happens. On the first group I was asked to make the transfer user a moderator, but nothing happened yet. Any clues what might go wrong here?

Use the reply-button?

The Reply link causes your message to be send back to the group.

If you use the Reply link, there is sometimes a button called "Private", but pressing it allows you only to send a message to the original author of the message, and not to some third party.

[Suzanne is referring to posts that are in the group's message archive, which can only be viewed via the web site (not via her e-mail system).]

Cindi -- This is the clue. There is no such thing as a "table" in a plain text file.

To convert Excel to plain text, do the following:

1. Select the column containing the email addresses
2. Type Ctrl-C to copy that column to your clipboard
3. Open a new Word document and paste it into that
4. Highlight the resulting table again
5. Type "convert table to text" into the help box. In the dialog, select "separate text with paragraph marks"
6. From the File menu, select "Save As"
7. Save as type Plain Text (*.txt)
8. In the resulting dialog, select MS-DOS text encoding and CR/LF line breaks

The resulting file should be acceptable to the groups.io invitation "Upload Addresses" dialog. If there's any extraneous stuff present and you don't want those lines to throw an error, you can open the file one last time and trim it using Notepad.

That can already be done, within limits.? The group owner could make someone a moderator with Billing permission, then they could pay for the group.? On Premium groups, there is also the Donation page that can be set up to accept donations from members using the Stripe service.? And you can always post a link to another payment service on your group.? It's ultimately up to the group owner how things are handled.

It could be that you have accidentally bookmarked the topics URL, or it could be that your browser "remembers" the topics URL and therefore prefers to go to it when you don't watch out.

Try updating your bookmarks and/or edit your browser history:

Messages expanded: /g/GROUPNAME/messages?expanded=1

As for copyright, things are not simple, but basically, for the most part, the author of any e-mail is automatically the copyright holder of that e-mail's content (unless he writes the e-mail in his capacity as an employee, in which case the employer is the copyright holder, or unless the content is published in the USA, in which case it's even more complicated, because different states have different copyright laws).

You are not actually supposed to forward private posts to people who are not members of your group (unless you have the owner/moderator and all identified parties' permission, of course).

Having a "forward" link or button would imply that it is okay to forward a message from within a group to someone who is outside the group.

If you want to share content from the group with people outside the group, and you don't have the e-mail in your e-mail program, then the only way to share the posts is copy/paste.

If the group's archive is set to "public", you can also send a link to the post or to the topic. Right-click the message number in the top right of the message and select something like "copy link address".
