What is being used is an e-mail address; phone-number@tmomail.net. It works fine when it send mail directly, it doesn't work when I send a groups.io invite.

I will say that groups.io uses SMTP to send group messages, not SMS. It seems unlikely that anyone attempting to sign up with a texting-only address will have a satisfactory experience, even if they are successful. A groups.io mobile app is under development. There has been no release date established, but with the continued Y!G influx it seems reasonable that will be pushed back. Bruce |

Looks like T-Mobile doesn't like groups.io sender addresses. Is there a workaround?

I figured it out ¨C not your issue.? I am a moderator on the yahoo group I am trying to have transferred. The transfer requires the OWNER to make the groups.io trnafer member a moderator.? The owner has not responded. In the meantime, I am porting over the files I can and will send out invites the manual way. ? [excess quote trimmed by moderator] |

missed the "a moderator of your group." I wish it had said,
"a moderator of your YahooGrooup."

Either way, I did that in YG, clicking the Green button, and now awaiting for it to happen. Re: In a Transfer loop
You have to be in annual premium plan costing $200. Once you do that you can transfer your group.

So the process has stopped until GIO actually adds that address. You're supposed to invite the transfer agent to your YAHOO GROUP. The agent cannot transfer content from Yahoo if you don't give it access to the data. Please note that, at some point, you must also promote the transfer agent to be a Moderator of your Yahoo group. If you are not the Owner of the Yahoo group, you probably won't be able to do this. Find someone who can. Or is there something more I need to do?It sounds like you have completed Step 1. In a Transfer loop
Steve Bass
I'm caught in a loop on the transfer process.
At the Easy Yahoo Group Transfer Setup page, I'm told: We have accepted the invite to your group. Before we can transfer your group, you must Premium Yearly. Once you've done that, return here and you will be able to give the go ahead to transfer. I already made the payment and was charged $20. When I get to the Available Plans payment page, it acknowledges that Premium Monthly Plan is already paid for by ghosting my "Current Plan." No where do I see the green "Give Go Ahead To Transfer" button. Any help greatly welcome. --Steve [email protected] |
Transfer fee vs. yearly fee
Steve Bass
I already paid $20 for a monthly Premium.
I'm been so entrenched in reading things about GIO, somewhere I think it said that the transfer fee is waived by virtue of paying for a year of the Premium Plan. If true, is there any way to apply the $20 to the yearly fee -- or somehow get the $20 back? Also, as I started the Transfer process, no where did it mention the Transfer Fee. How much is fee and where's it paid? Any help greatly welcome. --Steve [email protected] |

Where is the toggle located?Don -- First, you must have a Premium group. Second, you must have defined a database table with a column of type "address." If you have both of these things, and open the table, the toggles between map and list views will be at the top of the page (immediately to the right of "Edit Table Properties"). Note also that -- for some unknown reason -- map view defaults to maximum zoom. I have to hit the "zoom out" button twice before my house comes into view. Hope this helps, Bruce |

Thanks @Chris I had missed that (although had edited it when I originally created the group ironically).
Thanks @Frances - yes I read that when I created group a few days ago but had forgotten to look it up again. Many Thanks, John ?? |
Re: Acceptance time frame for [email protected] account

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSo it looks like this matches my experience, it will go round about 10 - 20 groups per day. But I think the load will go higher as more as the final shutdown of yahoo comes closer. My faster group is on position 714 today, if the speed stays constant this would mean 2 month to wait. That means the dead of the group at all. 2 month without communications from or to the group wouldn't let it survive. Let's wait some more days, i think the groups.io team will take some measures to speed up the process. And yes, now my second group finished step 2 it is now on position 841. I'm impressed that the groups.io team was this responsive the last weeks that they would be able to withstand that amount of requests without biger outages. Isidro
